Obama knows full well, the profile of the voters who would never ever vote for him. He |

gave this speech specifically to those who would listen and hear and understand.
So it goes.
He will be heard or not. His speech will resonate or not. But he gave the speech he wanted to, and gave no quarter to the nay sayers who would never listen with an open mind or open heart, regardless.
None of us know how this will play out.
As an Edwards supporter, I was drawn to him, not by his past record but by his future promise.
Edwards had courage and it cost him. The country did not listen to him and how he evolved, but looked past him to others. I fought many battles here, with people who would only cite Edward's IWR vote, and his hair, as reasons to not accept his conversion. But Edwards stuck to his guns, and did not waiver.
Obama gave the speech he wanted to, and did not pander to those who would not see. What I saw today was courage. But it may not be enough. And I think Obama knows it, and owned the themes of his speech in a noble and honorable way.

"As an Edwards supporter, I was drawn to him, not by his past record but by his future promise." What a great sentiment, as a Biden supporter, I too was devastated at the end of his campaign. Barack, in his own way, reminds me of that future Joe was talking about.

I will definitely be voting for him in the primary, if he continues on this path.
