I'm sure you can come up with a plausible answer post facto, but please pause for a moment to try to remember if you we actually thinking about belief in any particular thing when you made the comment I'm replying to.
What's so good about making "Americans believe again"? Personally, I'd rather see more rational thought and less "belief" in this world. If you mean, say, a well-founded belief, supported by demonstrated performance, in the American system of government doing a much better job for its own people, and around the world, I'm all for it. But demonstrated performance should come first, and the only benefit of belief afterwards is if it leads us to continue to make the kinds of choices that further the cause of good governance.
Belief is not a worthy goal, or a virtue, in and of itself.

...but then I think about it afterwards. It sounds like you'd rather stop at the "getting it" step, let the warm feel-good sensations flow over you, and skip the distasteful thinking part.
By the way, I very much like Obama and will be happy to see him win. That doesn't mean I have to jump on the bandwagon for all the rhetoric that so excites some people.

9. It's "Inuit". The word "Eskimo" is pejorative and means "eater of raw flesh". |
|
And if a particular Inuit lived in, say, Seattle, as opposed to an igloo (which is usually a temporary structure similar to a lean-to used for hunting), then yes, he probably could.
