These recent evens have derailed the O-train.
The delusion of some is astonishing.
To the people who think Obama has ended this matter and his damage control speech has turned this into a positive.
Quit spinning - or seek help.
It's clear the wheels are off the Obama express..... and it's careening into the ditch.
Obama is irreperably damaged.... and it's by his own doing.
His speech was inauthentic -- if he believed in racial unity, he wouldn't attend a church that is based on racial division.

For the good of the party, Obama needs to bow out now before he damages the party further.

(I've used it once ever), I've found that most of the 'I'm ignoring you' responses are to posts with zero substance...

The OP is a perfect example of mindless derision.

It sounds much more like nuerotic wishful thinking than reality.

Oh,and also a good helping of ignorance.

Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 09:21 PM by musicblind
you shouldn't ignore people who disagree with you. Jlake is usually pretty nice compared to many on here, just very very faithful to Hillary who he really believes in. I personally think his dedication to something he believes in has inspiring qualities. Personally, I thought the speech was awesome, but still support Hillary over all. Though I will be proud to have Obama as our nominee and then president. Despite everything I do not think Obama will plummet in the polls. We'll have to see, but I think the chances of that happening over this are slim. Back to the subject of my post, please reconsider ignoring people just because they do not agree. Jlake didn't say anything flammatory. He didn't call anyone names. He just stated a strong opinion that differed from yours.

177. Why would you ignore a thread just because it disagreed with you?
He didn't say anything flammatory. He didn't call names. He may not be RIGHT! Even as a Hillary supporter I think it is silly to claim Obama is about to collapse in the polls... but not being right does not mean he did something wrong. He has a right to his opinion and, who knows, we don't have a crystal ball... the sun might not even come up tomorrow. we don't know. So please reconsider ignoring people merely because they disagree with you.

btw, personally, I loved Obama's speech. I got chills, and cried. It was wonderful. Obama is such an amazing candidate and if makes it to the nomination will be an amazing nominee. Though I am still supporting Hillary because of my strong belief in some of her policies.

from the beginning of his campaign, I would be impressed. The speech today was sparked for self-serving reasons. To save his run for the presidency. I've been talking to people around PA.... and he is not doing well on this issue.
I really do feel bad for the good Obama supporters - but Obama based his campaign on "unity", but he didn't practice it.

you Clinton supporters are something else. When exactly did Obama lie. I believed that people got on this forums to become more informed voters, but thats obviously not the case. People still refuse to face reality. And the reality of the situation is that Clinton is in second place and most likely won't win. It should be obviously to you Clinton supporters that she can't win in the general election. What can she run on. She can't use the bogus experience line. She can't say she opposed the war, thats republicans want her to win. Yall are so caught the bullshit that you can't see through it. And it just might cost us the General Election.

What will cost us the GE is putting forth a nominee that has been given a free pass up until the Wright controversy came out. His speech is being viewed as self-serving, and average voters in America are not buying it. He lied when he went around to all the networks Friday night stating that he was not aware of the incendiary sermons of Wright. That he had not heard them. He clearly stated yesterday, that "YES" he had heard them.

Here in reality, Clinton is the one damaging the party out of desperation.

And the church he attends is mostly white.

108. Obama represents the American melting pot!
This speech embodies all the reasons I admire BO and America. He has in this one speech brought out the fact that HE is a global melting pot, just like America. If he wins the election, America wins, because it means that America has taken giant steps towards overcoming racial divides, entrenched corporate interests, big lobbyists and war-mongerers. I hope everyone sees that and can go beyond narrow partisan divides.

This election is so much more than a selection of the best candidate. The nation with the rest of the world stands at a moment of great change. We have challenges buffeting us from every angle - global warming, economic slowdown coupled with increasing inflation, islamic terrorism and the misdirected war-mongering response and many more. I would be looking for an inclusive, intelligent, articulate, principled person with a healthy dose of common sense as a leader, and when we get one we can hardly wait to tear him down.

This behavior is self-destructive and needs to stop if we are to overcome the challenges that face us all.

I really feel bad for her supporters. Going from inevitable to not even getting past the primaries.

127. Obama is still the favorite
While it is true that Hillary has the momentum, it is too late as the delegate lead is too large to overcome. That's the way I see it.

All she has to do is win EVERY REMAINING STATE 65% to 35% and she will win by 14 pledged delegates.

157. Absolutely!
All this does is get posters to make snide remarks to each other. Honestly, what, are we in kindergarten? "Does not!" "Does too!" "You're a poopy head!" What does this accomplish? We can't get a nominee soon enough for me, so we can get back to what's important - defeating the Republicans and taking back the Whitehouse!!!

151. Ahh yes, the last desperate gasp of DU's Hillary contingent
Trying their best to flog their horse across the finish line, and deep in denial that they simply aren't going to come in first. I really hope you folks come back to reality after the primary season is over.

Let me ask you this, do you honestly think that Hillary can take the remaining states' delegates by a 65-35 percent margin? Do you really think that the numbers will fall that well for you? Because if they don't fall that way for Hillary, in each and every state, Obama goes into the convention with more pledged delegates, and the party leadership is already making moves to insure that the super delegates follow the lead of pledged delegates, which means that they too will go for Obama.

Yes, Hillary can continue to pull into her bag of dirty tricks, and try to pull off pledged delegates, or arm twist super delegates, but I doubt that it will work. And if does work, and she gets the nomination in spite of being behind in pledged delegates, then she will lose in the fall, because the half of the party that believes in democratic principles will either stay home or go Green.

But hey, enjoy your state of delusion while it lasts, it is going to be sooo entertaining around here when reality brutally intrudes on the delusions of the Hillary supporters.

It was inevitable that Obama would reveive more scrutiny from the press. And it is fairly clear his speech was received well. What amazes me is how I do not see many posts about the substance of his speech. From the brief clip I saw it was clear that many O supporters should have learned something from it, in addition to the rest of us heathens.
