I know DU isn't representative of the general population, but it's still fun to poll. If you have a sec, PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR CHOICE.

4. cool poll
I tried to do one similar the other day about the candidates.

I didn't write it well and got some skewed results and a lot of correction from my fellow D.U.ers

This one is written well.

Good Job.

5. Eh, I still think this one is getting skewed
I think the more adamant Clinton supporters who were never going to support him anyway are saying that they are less likely to support him to demoralize us.

10. I asked the same about another poll
where "Obama supporters" gave his speech a grade of C, but I never received a response.

7. I've been with him since Iowa, but was starting to have my doubts
mainly about electability. But now I am more proud and more determined than ever...if America is not ready that's our loss, and an Obama presidency is worth fighting for!

I was a lukewarm Obama supporter who was not wavering, but who is now much more strongly in favor of Obama. (But who does not worship him)

12. Just Validation for Me
I found his speech to validate what I thought about him all along - he's the real deal. He addressed the race issue head on and those that don't want to hear it - would never vote for him to begin with. They'll continue to deny the real issues of race in this country and point fingers rather than attempt to find solutions.

13. before I supported Obama graded on a curve of the two left standing. Now he is in a class by
himself and even whispers of Gore wouldn't move me.

14. I was worried about the media feeding frenzy over Wright but was
reminded today that this man absolutely gets it and will make us proud as Democrats that he will be our standard bearer against the forces of war, corruption, division, and greed this fall.

And I still have my doubts about whether America is ready, but Obama reminded me today that the dream is worth fighting for.

18. So far two voters have admitted to not being Democrats
Democrats will vote Democrat in the GE. Period. If it's Clinton, Obama — fuck, if it's Lieberman (OK, maybe not Lieberman).

21. I don't know about Lieberman
Four years ago when he was running I'd have agreed that he should be included, but at this point he is pretty much not a Democrat anymore. although we still need him for the rest of the year to maintain our senate majority.

19. Today showed me he is in incredible politician in addition to being an incredible person/candidate
His enemies dredge up this stuff and think it will do him in, and then he just elevates the whole discussion into something deeper, more interesting, more meaningful, and more wonderful for America.

It's kinda like taking a headline from a crazy supermarket taboid and using it as the basis for a novel of sublime beauty.

23. Online polls like this do not mean anything.
How will the speech affect swing voters who might go either way in the general election? That is, types unlikely to be reading this.

I don't know the answer, but that's the real question.
