Hmm, I think Lincoln did a better job, as did Obama, than has Hardball. ;-)
Still, I'm glad that they're acknowledging the greatness of Barack's speech.

10. Country, Country, Country |
|
Please give me a break. I had two brain surgeries a year ago in Dec. I still get words messed up... My favorite so far is when is asked my students to turn in their shits of papers. They got a big laugh. Often the word ask comes out ass. It is called dyspepsia and I may never get over. I got hit while my car was sitting still and got rear-ended by a car going 50.

32. I heard it on the radio. I've never heard ANY politician speak |
|
in a way that made me believe he was being totally and candidly honest, saying EXACTLY what he believes. I win a lot or lose a lot of money being able to tell when someone is BS-ing me on the poker table, by their body language and especially when I can get them to speak. True or not, accurate or not, Obama really believes every word of what he said...at least that's my opinion.

39. It was an excellent speech, but I wouldn't call it as great as Lincoln's |
|
or MLK's, but I'd say it was more on par with FDR's fireside chats, which he used to teach Americans about the dangers both domestic and foreign facing America. And FDR was no lightweight when it came to speech making either, so my comparison is not a denigration of FDR or Obama. I'm just trying to categorize it a bit better.
One of Bill Moyer's guests said that Obama needed to start using his speeches to "teach" Americans about our problems and how we can overcome them. This speech seemed to be in line with that advice and it was an excellent speech from a political leadership viewpoint. MLK actually got deeper into the roots of racism and class warfare and remember, the MSM of the 50's and 60's treated MLK similar to how our MSM treats Rev. Wright today.
