Will the GOP spin this to say monitoring works?
Or, maybe I should ask when will they use this as proof their warrantless spying on American citizens needs to be forgiven?

That makes it clear that they are only to be looked into for official purposes with the specific laws impact and fines and jail sentences that may be levied.

This IS a big story. We don't know how big it is because it's just breaking, but it could either slowly wither away, or it could get even bigger. Maybe it is three curious individuals, but the timeline just doesn't make sense. January 9th, February 21st, March 14th. Three separate incidents, three different people. Given the fact that Senator Obama is currently the Democratic front-runner in a majority of the polls, this nearly 7-day delay in informing him about this breach of his privacy is suspicious.
I'm hoping this isn't as bad as it has the potential to become.

36. For those of us who are in the government, with |
|
the ability to access privileged information, we are constantly reminded that we are about to access privileged/confidential info and have to acknowledge that we have a "need to know". Trust me, if I went where I'm not allowed/authorized, I'd not only be in huge trouble, but everyone I work with would be forced to undergo another series of training sessions to reinforce the rules.
So, my question - why 3 separate incidents, supposedly involving 3 separate "contractors" and yet, no one thought it was more than just being nosy?
I'm having a very hard time swallowing that. But I'll reserve my opinion until there is an independent investigation!
Peace!

41. is there any legal recourse |
|
for obama to take to initiate investigations into the state department and their handling of private information but also what should be classified information considering his status as a presidential candidate. if this is an attempt on the part, at any level, for nefarious activity and use then it seems only impartial investigations would be the only prevention to a recurrence of such in the future as means of affecting the electoral process. i hope they jump ahead of the ball on this and don't give them an inch of reasonable doubt.
