Lieberman is to McCain as Edgar Bergen is to ... Charlie McCarthy.
Usually that job falls to Cindy McCain, who is the only spouse I've seen who stands within inches of her husband, on camera, the entire time
MKcCain's giving a speech or answering questions.

However, since McCain's been traveling overseas, the ventriloquist's position has fallen to Joe Lieberman, and McCain seems to be keeping him
very busy.

Are they afraid he's going to keel over? Fall asleep? Fall off the stage?
Or are they afraid he's going to say something so outrageous that they'll have to grab the mike from his tight grasp to shut him up?

Seriously - what's with that?
