This exercise is offered as a non-partisan way for us to get our heads around our situation, and to appreciate our own favorite candidate’s vulnerabilities.

For the next 5 minutes YOU are Karl Rove. You are running the negative campaign against each of the three contenders in turn. What would your top 4 negative talking points be for each one?

There’s only one rule – You must provide an equal number of negative talking points for ALL THREE CANDIDATES!

John McCain:
1. war monger (“bomb, bomb Iran”, “100 years”, etc.)
2. very old, and way “out of touch”
3. much more conservative than he pretends
4. a waffling panderer (abortion, religious right, torture, etc.)


Barack Obama:
1. snake-oil salesman, false prophet
2. divisive figure – stirs up trouble
3. light-weight – no experience, just “words”
4. secret hate-monger and terrorist sympathizer


Hillary Clinton:
1. untrustworthy, conniving
2. inexperienced. Lying about her “35 years”
3. irritating personality. Chip on shoulder. The world owes her something.
4. countless unresolved scandals
