WOW: Fox News accepts Obama's challenge!!
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 03:12 PM by goletian
chris wallace, of fox news, questions fox's obama bashing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiIK8jh3ZCE

brian kilmeade, of fox news, walks off set over co-host's obama bashing:
http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id=19ba5a61-9510-4da5-abeb-e9a546cdc33a

what challenge?

http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1723960,00.html

from article, titled, "Obama's Challenge — and Ours..."

Whether Obama survives now will depend on the most important and overlooked part of his speech—the final section, in which he challenged the public and, especially, the media to stow the sensationalism: "We can play Reverend Wright's sermons on every channel, every day ... and make the only question in this campaign whether or not the American people think that I somehow believe or sympathize with his most offensive words," he said. "But if we do, I can tell you that in the next election we'll be talking about some other distraction ... And nothing will change ... Or, at this moment in this election, we can come together and say, 'Not this time.'"

1. GOOD!
Some Fox News hosts are starting to rebel against being asked to constantly repeat propaganda lines for the Republican Party. Some of them want to be journalists again. Good for them.

2. GREAT! Chris Wallace is right - and the look on the anchors faces are priceless
They looked stunned that Wallace would basically attack their show on live television.

8. "Mmmm Ok"
The last frame of that orange freak's face was priceless.

The three fox friends did look rather scolded by the end, on the final camera shots of them, they were all slumped over, and deflated with their big hair and makeup.

55. It's the side comments I love
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 10:25 PM by krkaufman
Where Steve Doocy rips Wallace as he's exiting the interview... and where Doocy and the female anchor are laughing at "the guy who's not Steve Doocy" after he leaves the set, of what should apparently be called Faux Friends.

(the side jabs are what make me think the two episodes weren't staged)

-- he is awakening the conscience of people.. at least some of them. That is a power never to be underestimated.

42. Maybe his dad, Mike Wallace got to him?
I can't recall ever seeing Chris sound anything other then a Faux shill for their RW bullshit.

I'll give him credit on this one, Chris actually was sounding sane and I believe he did a good job with his co-horts telling them to chill on the 24/7 Obama/Wright story they are running.

6. Wouldn't it be something, to see some real journalistic standards
take over? And to be fair, although Faux is usually the most egregious offender, it's not just Faux by a long shot. Every network/channel has demonstrated bias, parroting talking points, failed to ask the right questions, or the same questions of all candidates, or whatever...
The media overall has really fallen down on the job, and I think they finally get it that enough Americans are paying attention and are getting pissed, and are letting the media KNOW they're getting pissed, and maybe...just maybe...we might start moving in the direction of at least some semblance of objectivity and judgment about what is/isn't newsworthy, and how the reporting is done on what IS newsworthy.

24. One was a sports guy.
A few days ago I was thinking people in power are so insane. Most of it I ended up dismissing as the business of politics. See, you get a regular sports guy out there and he's like "WTF? this is ridiculous". Only in a political arena does a steaming pile of an issue need to be dissected and analyzed from all angles.

He was asked, what would you do if we called you a typical sportscaster/something to that effect, and he then walked out.

Not because they were using the Obama said typical white person.
