Superdelegate Lynn Woolsey to switch to Obama?
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/24/123741/841/888/483214

Just a quick teeny diary on an issue that had been disturbing me for some time. My Congressional Rep. Lynn Woolsey had endorsed Sen. Clinton for President. This seemed sooooo wrong because Lynn is very progressive and her congressional district went for Obama.

So today...on my umpteenth call to one of her offices to protest this...I was transferred to someone who said:

She is now going to be voting with her Congressional District.

The woman I spoke with did not use the word endorse...but this is looking much better. She said that her news release should be out soon and it will also be on her website. I checked the website...not there yet.

Now I don't know if my phone calls and all the other phone calls made a difference....but maybe they did. So keep calling your superdelegates too!

If you are in Rep. Woolsey's district, can you please check on this?

7. Been calling Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell - both Sen. Hil supporters
Reminding them that WA went for Obama 68% - 32%.

The comments I have been getting from their 'staffers' is if they will be going the way of their electorate is a very good question and will be answered soon.

Same thing. I have been calling SD's in NY and TX.
Where they seemed very firm in their support (and votes) a month ago, there is some serious softening-up in their support, IMO. I reminded one rep's office in NY that his district went for Obama and the staffer went out of her way to compliment Sen. Obama. After she made those nice comments, I said that given the Rep's high opinion of Obama, he should consider voting for him at the convention and listen to the will of the people in his district. She said "that's what these elections are all about."

The lady (who was very nice) admitted the office had received a lot of phone calls about the topic.

11. Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson get to vote against their constituents.
That only seems fair. It's heartening to see the consistency of the Obama campaign on this issue.

12. I think SD's need to represent the will of the people who voted for them...
And that includes Kennedy, Kerry, and Richardson.

Yep - fair is fair.

9. Everyone needs to be calling their superdelegates
Even if they're supporting Obama, we should still be pushing them to support him publicly against these racist attacks.

10. She'll support Obama at the convention.
There are other progressives who will do so, but who committed to Clinton early. No surprise really.

13. two more confirmations on the diary's comments - here is one:
congresswoman Woolsey (5+ / 0-)
Recommended by: deben, mayan, godislove, Magster, Unseen majority

I just spoke to her office in Marin and was told she will indeed vote her districts preference. She also just has had back surgery and is recouperating from that, very well.

Sonoma county is very much Obama country
