Obama surrogate: Bill Clinton worse the Joe McCarthy, brings up blue dress
Once again Obama says one thing, he or his campaign does another.

-snip-

Gordon Fischer, the former director of the Iowa Democratic Party and a senior adviser for Sen. Barack Obama's efforts in the Hawkeye State, is still very much involved in making sure Obama gets delegates as the caucus process continues.

"B. Clinton questions Obama's patriotism. In repsonse (sic), an Obama aide compared B. Clinton to Joe McCarthy. This is patently unfair. To McCarthy.

"When Joe McCarthy questioned others' patriotism, McCarthy (1) actually believed, at least apparently (sic), the questions were genuine, and (2) he did so in order to build up, not tear down, his own party, the GOP. Bill Clinton cannot possibly seriously believe Obama is not a patriot, and cannot possibly be said to be helping -- instead he is hurting -- his own party. B. Clinton should never be forgiven. Period. This is a stain on his legacy, much worse, much deeper, than the one on Monica's blue dress."

That's not quite the kind of comment that keeps with Obama's pledge to focus on policy differences instead of personal attacks, I think it's safe to say.

3. Absolutely
that's why it's so frustrating to see so many people here pretend that Obama is pure and true and the epitome of goodness and a new kind of politics.

It's bullshit.

7. I like Obama much better than I like his supporters
but they're making it very difficult for me to support him at all should he get the nomination.

There's an active thread here wherein Hillary is called a "scumbag".

There's another thread where a blatant lie is told, saying that the Clintons' pastor has been convicted of child molestation - it's about a pastor from the town of Clinton, NY, with no relationship whatsoever to Bill or Hillary.

The smears, the name-calling, the brownshirt tactics, the outright lies told with impunity by his supporters make it very very hard to accept him.

5. If they have the audacity to label the Clintons as racists
they are capable of anything. Nothing they say or do should come as a surprise and any Obama "pledge" is worthless.

23. It's amazing they've managed to sell the racist angle without even one concrete quote
They just say it, and people believe it.

11. Hillary has a way of making good, polite people so furious
that they explode. I see this as more of an indication of how badly Hillary's campaign has failed at inspiring people. More people hate the Clintons now than ever before.

21. I have yet to ever hear or see Hillary say anything wrong.
She is a politician and a very good one. I believe she and Bill have to be pretty darn good people to be able to raise a child like Chelsea. If they were the horrible people you BO folks say they couldn't have raised her to be the respectable, poised, young lady she is today. I'm sure it wasn't easy living in the limelight in her formative years, they've had to spend a lot of time and love to have this success. They don't deserve the bashing they're getting from the democrats on this board. You sound like a bunch of republican A O's, shame on you.
