I'm going to say it: Clinton is officially unelectable.
They got Al Gore for "inventing the internet," which was sorta true.

They got John Kerry just by questioning his military record and his post-service antiwar activity.

Two GREAT Americans, who both VOLUNTEERED for military service during Vietnam, smeared by the right wing Chimp cabal led by a man-boy who weaseled his way out of service.

This year, 2008, neither of our candidates for office have a history of military service. Clinton was a woman and not eligible for the Vietnam draft, and Obama was too young to fight. These are both 100% honorable reasons for not having served during Vietnam.

John McCain, on the other hand, did serve. He was wounded, shot down, tortured, and held as a POW. Since we're the democrats, we're not going to run a smear campaign against his military service this fall.

The republicans, on the other hand, would have been unable to attack either Barack or Hillary on their service records UNTIL NOW.

If Hillary is the nominee, we're going to see her sniper story repeated ad infinitum until November. Her protests that she misspoke or that words don't matter will not be able to stop the bleeding.

Stick a fork in her: she's done.

28. Wright is preaching his hatred now, not giving a history lesson.
Even Jesse Jackson (the father, not the son) finds points of agreement between all the races on which to base his agenda (a good one, for my money.)

I use the word "even" because the media routinely uses Jesse as a punching bag. When the primary is over, and if the media has managed to install Obama as our candidate, you will get a good taste of it.

Why does everyone on this site put words into other people's mouths? Both candidates are going to get slammed by the pubs. It's only Sen Obama's supporters that think he's going to sail into the white house on angels wings. Frankly, I think both candidates suck. Now, why don't you try acting like a grown up if it's not too much trouble.

But since I also have a history degree I kinda of see where he is coming from (don't think he went about making his point in the right way though). I understand way some Caucasians would be annoyed and I think they need to get a grip it is 2008 not 1958.

I completely agree with Baracks speech and I still support him completely.

Dam shame this is going into the gutter of racial politics.

Hillary from the get go. He saw nothing wrong with it. He wins 99% of the black electorate. He forgets about the rest of America (the majority).

Wright's hatred (and his agreement) dictated his actions. He does not have to say anything. His shortsightedness has set black against white and split the Democratic party in two. What more do you want?

41. Reverend Wright=

Born on September 22, 1941, in Philadelphia
Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. is one of the most widely acclaimed black preachers in the United States. Combining social concern, spiritual growth, and political activism, Wright, who preaches in a black traditional style, brings a message of hope, redemption, and renewal. In 1972 he became pastor of a small United Church of Christ congregation in the inner city of Chicago. After over 30 years in the pulpit, his congregation has grown to 10,000 and is the largest United Church of Christ congregation in the United States.
In 1959 Wright enrolled at Virginia Union University, in Richmond, where he remained until 1961. That year he left school to join the military. He served in the Second Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1963, achieving the rank of private first class. In 1963 he graduated as valedictorian from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, and from 1964 to 1967, he served as a cardio pulmonary technician at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
During 1965 and 1966, he was awarded with three Presidential Commendations from President Lyndon B. Johnson.

After his discharge from the military, Wright continued his education. He enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1967, and was awarded a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master's degree in 1969. He then entered the University of Chicago Divinity School, receiving a master of arts degree in 1975. He ended his formal education in 1990 when he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in black sacred music from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
----------------------------------------------
When Wright joined the staff of Trinity United Church of Christ as senior pastor, the inner city church boasted just 87 active members, most of whom came from the neighborhood surrounding the church. Wright embraced his new congregation took up the phrase coined by his predecessor Rev. Dr. Reuben Sheares, "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian." Within months the church had adopted the phrase as its motto and vision. Under Wright's leadership, fueled by his passion, and motivated by his preaching, the congregation began to grow by leaps and bounds. By 2004 there were over 10,000 members, with
people coming from across the metro area. The congregation, which proudly notes its diverse socio-economic mix, dedicated a new 2,700 worship center in 1997.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Wright has authored several books, including Africans Who Shaped Our Faith, Good News! Sermons of Hope for Today's Families, and What Makes You So Strong? Sermons of Joy and Strength from Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. According to Cleophus J. LaRue in The Heart of Black Preaching, in his title sermon of What Makes You So Strong, Wright "demonstrates the power of the mighty sovereign at work in the lives of black people in twentieth century America. This sermon focuses on the root of black strength and survivability. Wright makes it clear throughout the sermon that the source of all strength, and especially black strength, is none other than the Spirit of God." As in his preaching, in his writing Wright focuses on the
dual issues of corporate concern and spiritual sustenance. His latest publication, What Can Happen When We Pray: A Daily Devotional, was published in 2002.
In recognition of his contributions, Wright has been awarded seven honorary doctoral degrees. He has also served on a number of boards and commissions, including serving on the board of trustees for Virginia Union University and Chicago Theological Seminary. He continues to be a highly sought after preacher,
teacher, and lecturer.

She goofed on a memory from 16 years ago. He lies about ongoing relationships, and dribbles out information only when he knows it will be in the news shortly.

33. Hillary Clinton was always unelectable.
I'm surprised it's taken this long for people to start figuring that out.

43. What's your point?
If she has less money, that was her own fuckup. A campaign that's taken in as many millions of dollars as hers that can't manage its own funds has no one but themselves to blame for that sorry fact.

And the argument that the MSM is against her is fallacious. She lost eleven contests in a row and wasn't laughed off the national stage for it. If that had happened to any other candidate they would have been ripped to shreds on the nightly news. Except it wouldn't have happened to any other candidate, because any other candidate would have had the sense and dignity to drop out after, say, five consecutive losses. HRC was only allowed to appear as though she was still viable because she's gotten a free ride.

39. Agreed. Hillary's blown it big time. Who would want her answering the call at 3 am when she's tired?
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 04:00 PM by InAbLuEsTaTe
Someone else on another thread pointed this out and Hillary's proclivity to talk nonsense and make unwise decisions when she's sleep deprived disqualifies her for the presidency by her own standards.

We need someone who can think clearly at all times.

48. Just keep rubbing their faces in it, like dogshit.
Eventually, they'll slink away. Just be relentless, and don't let a single point pass by, no matter how absurd it seems. And don't worry about arguing long back-and-forths with the same people over the same arguments. They're counting on you to give up out of sheer exasperation. Don't let them get away with it.
