IMHO: It's not racism. It's not sexism. It's POLITICS.
Both candidates are using whatever memes are at their disposal to WIN.

Personally, I believe Obama is a fatally flawed candidate and will be skewered and roasted alive on the right wing bar-b-que pit should he get the nomination. (And that means we'll be inaugurating President McCain in 2009.)

Clinton, not so much. She has been vetted for the last 16 years, and passed through the Rethug flames without a lot of damage. She can take this election. But the fascist powers that be have decided the weaker Dem candidate, Obama, MUST get the nomination. I hope "they" don't get what they want.

of these little fopah's in time.

Not to mention other crap that would certainly be dredged up in a GE if she were the nominee.

1. She's been "vetted" only if you think time stopped in 2000.
The Clintons have been doing all kinds of shady things with all kinds of shady characters. They refuse to release information about their finances or library donors. It's pretty widely rumored that Bill has had some zipper problems too. The RW noise machine has been relatively silent about this stuff. Why? Because they were waiting to throw it at her in the general. And now we have her sniper fantasy. That's going to play real well against Grandpa McWarhero. Not.

12. You don't know what the Clintons went through during Bill's presidency?
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 05:59 PM by MyPetRock
In spite of that Hillary is a two term Senator from New York and a contender in the 2008 Democratic primary. The Rethugs didn't just throw the kitchen sink at Hillary, they threw the whole damn kitchen. She is still going strong.

14. Poor. poor Hillary.... That still doesn't excuse the fact that she is trying to ...
destroy a rival Democratic candidate when her chances of getting the nomination are at about 5 %. She lies consistently and she has an enormous baggage load if she were the nominee. So I don't have much sorrow for Hillary Clinton.

20. And that has nothing to do with her being vetted.
Yes, the right wing powers that be may succeed in getting fatally flawed BO as the Democratic nominee. I concede that. But if that happens, we get President McCain.

5. POLITICS
Is ultimately about leadership.

The "Win at all costs" mentality has caused the death of millions and the rise of facism in so many countries in so many periods of history.

Without our principles we are nothing. She has proven to me that she is severely lacking in principles. Most recently - honesty.

Sorry but the end doesn't justify the means. nt

6. Perhaps it's just poltics but it's last century politics
and I think the same of Senator Clinton that you feel about Senator Obama. I'm afraid she has much more damage then you realize at least in my part of Ohio.

7. She is vetted like she ducked from sniper fire
In a word, it's all a delusion. She is a disaster of a candidate. First her FL & MI potemkin primaries, now her potemkin war zone. WAKE UP. She has next to no chance to win and is only ruining the chance for the rest of the party.

disguised Republican? Just think of what both she and Bill have been doing with respect to pumping up McCain and cutting down Obama.

13. That was my original complaint
Why would we go through the nightmare of running Hillary Clinton when all we're going to get is warmed over Republicanism. It's one thing to go through the smear machine if you're fighting for excellent policies and a candidate with integrity. But to go through it for forced health insurance and Iran war mongering??? Makes no damn sense at all.

Then she started running this horrible campaign and lying day after day - and it makes even less sense than before.

8. He is more inspiring a candidate than I've seen in my lifetime.
I wasn't born yesterday.

He is hardly fatally flawed.

People vastly minimize the degree of Clinton fatigue and her campaign has been appallingly mean spirited and ineffectual.

We're just plain sick of her and her husband's baggage. They have only made it worse.

Time for some new blood and energy and essence.

10. i'm not sure what you mean by:
"She has been vetted for the last 16 years, and passed through the Rethug flames without a lot of damage."

The loss of control of Congress after 2 years (oh, that was Bill), the failed launch of her health care plan (oh, that wasn't HER plan), the impeachment and further strengthening of the RW repukes in control of Congress (oh, that was Bill, again)...

the lowest negatives seen in active politics for a national figure outside of jr......

yeah, she's weathering the storm pretty fair....except it is just sprinkling....

11. It's bad politics to slime Obama's pastor
unless you plan to try and win in November with a seriously damaged relationship with the black community.

And, oh yeah, we look forward to those tax returns and the foundation donor list from Mrs. Not Yet Vetted.

24. exactly
the op seems to think it's ok to use racism or sexism as some kind of game. It's not. Certainly not in the democratic party. We should be beyond that.

I firmly believe that no other democratic candidate besides hillary clinton (not edwards, biden, or richardson etc) would have injected racism and bigotry into this campaign the way the clinton campaign has.
