Poll question: The Latest 'I won't vote for ___' if I don't get my way poll |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 02:42 PM by democrattotheend
If you are in this group, put it out there. Vote and comment, please. Please say whether or not you live in a swing state, so we know whether you are casting a protest vote in a non-swing state or actually don't want the other Democrat to win.

1. If there's any chance of McCain winning CA, I'll vote for her |
|
Otherwise, I will probably write in my vote.

3. That's why I added the "might vote for" option |
|
Originally I had it written "if my state becomes competitive", but I realized there are other reasons people might be undecided (New Jersey becoming competitive was my reason in 2004 for towing the line, though I like John Kerry a lot more now than I did then).

6. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Please DON"T write-in or go 3rd party |
|
1. You will never find anyone that matches all of your beliefs, convictions, and aspirations 100%. Sometimes you must compromise.
2. Find a local candidate that you dig and concentrate your energies on his/her campaign. Then you can ignore the National race.
3. Remember the Supreme Court. Do you really want McCain selecting 3 more justices? They'll be like Thomas, Scalia, and Alito and will ruin this country for another half century.
Again: Please don't write in a candidate. Vote for whoever has a (D) after their name.

8. Hillary should not have a D after her name. |
|
She has totally betrayed the Democratic party and she should drop out now.

12. BS. She's not my first choice, but picture the Supreme Court Justices |
|
that she will pick and then picture the freaks McCain would pick. I'm sure the right answer will come to you.

9. The poster said he/she will tow the line if CA is competitive |
|
Otherwise there might be valid reasons for voting third party. I would not do so, because none of the third parties appeal to me, but I don't mind people who do it in states that are not competitive.

California will only come close to voting for McCain in a political climate so unfavorable to the Democrat that all the swing states will definitely be for him. One way or the other, my vote will not affect the results. Of course I will go to the polls to vote for Democrats in other races where my vote does count.

They feel just fine, of course if they don't live in a swing state, they didn't help Bush get elected.

California doesn't have much effect on GE results |
|
If anything, it's in my interests for the race to be closer, because it will mean future Democratic candidates will have to campaign to my state.
If something changes that between now and then, trust me, I'll vote Hillary. Though it will be hard to do so after the sniper fire lies, which were really the breaking point for me.

Although honestly, I don't think it matters. If she steals the nomination I'll be pissed, but I still think this election is too important to screw around with.

|
"I'm an Obama supporter and will vote for McCain if Hillary's the nominee"
I mean really, it's impossible to tell who's really choosing some of these options. Glad to see a high number of Obama supporters saying they'll support the nominee however.

38. Me too, so if Clinton wins, I *may* vote for her |

or I might vote for a non-Nader 3rd party.
Clinton will have a chance to earn my vote, but it's not guaranteed.
If I lived in Florida or Ohio, though, I would hold my nose and vote for her.

40. I need an obligatory other |
|
because I do my best to be difficult.
I don't know what I will do yet. The future is a blank slate. Perhaps Obama will get caught with an underage male hooker, and Hillary will quit with him in a motion of solidarity, after we learn that she is the owner/manager of a company who's business model is based on growing children in bottles to make them neat shapes.(sorry, trying for things of roughly equal likely hood) and we will have no choice but Dean. Or perhaps aliens will start the war of the worlds on october 23rd, and I will be too busy fighting for the future of the species to worry about voting.
Just sayin, its a long time, so I'm not ready to limit my choices so narrowly just yet.
