Is this what this primary campaign has come to? Brawling grannies!
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 06:04 AM by bklyncowgirl
This picture was in the New York Times blog.

Apparently the gray haired lady on the right ripped a campaign sign from an Obama supporter's hand. While this is no doubt an extreme example and I'm sure that Clinton supporters can and will post stories about equally nasty encounters with rabid Obama supporters, the fact that this sort of frenzied partisanship is making its way into the main stream media may be a sign that things are getting just a bit out of hand.

Maybe we all just need to take a deep breath and remember--"It's the Supreme Court Stupid"

1. Awww... the poor old gal....
I do have a question: Is it "partisanship" when the warring is within the party? Just wondering why that word is cropping up between Barack and Hillary supporters. Do we really perceive ourselves as two different parties?

I am starting to think that (at least for some) we do.

3. There probably should be a different word for extremist primary supporters.
I can't think of one, but then again it's early in the morning and I'm only on my second cup of coffee.

who is seeing her dream go up in smoke.

Cut her some slack! She'll shut up when the party tells her to.

10. Let's say it was an elderly black man ripping a Hillary poster out of the hands of some woman.
Would you find a reason to excuse that behavior?

13. Yes.
Because it may be his final chance to act out in such a way.

And a little bit of civil disobedience should be part of every life.

(As long as noone gets physically hurt.)

11. If it was a 30 year old Black Male
The word Thug would be uttered more often on this board than you can believe and he'd probably get arrested for assault.

This is nothing new Remember when Franken tackled a guy in NH four years ago. That crazy Al.
