Not only was Carville a failure, he was on the wrong side--supporting the fascist opposition that, two years before, had staged a violent rightwing military coup in which they kidnapped Chavez, threatened his life, and suspended the Constitution, the National Assembly, the courts and all civil rights.* And in Bolivia, he was again on the wrong side, and again failed--trying to defeat Evo Morales, the first indigenous president of Bolivia--a largely indigenous country. In that case, Carville was backing white racists as well as the rich minority.
