Radical idea to solve the Democratic problem |
|
Let the person with the most popular votes be the candidate.
(Actually I sort of borrowed this idea from Pelosi. But she sort of borrowed it from the founding fathers, so what the heck.)
Now I know some of you will find this objectionable, because the masses -- well, they are stupid and easily duped, so why should we let the masses decide things? I know, I know -- buncha idiots. There are advantages to ignoring democracy. Obviously if your candidate is vastly superior but is trailing in the votes, then idiots rule, right? And we can't have idiots ruling, now could we?
I don't know -- it still might be the best idea to let the candidate with the most votes win. I know it is a very radical idea, but these are tough times and maybe we need some radical solutions.

1. actually Pelosi has said the exact opposite |

She is on record of favoring delegates instead of the popular vote.

Last I heard she said that the delegate vote should reflect the popular vote.
Now -- are you disagreeing with my idea or not?

5. No on This Week she was directly asked |
|
about one candidate having a popular vote majority and the other having a majority of the pledged delegates and she clearly, unambiguously stated that delegates rule (she compared it to the electorial college).

6. and hold a convention in August. |
|
why do people want to 'end the primary'? Maybe they should have been calling for a shorter primary season.

7. Why not follow the rules that were put in place by the DNC before the primaries began |
|
and see what happens? If it goes to the convention, so be it. We will have our nominee sooner or later and then we can rally behind that nominee and work on defeating the Republicans.
