Giving Away Hillary Buttons in KY!
I always wear a Hillary button. And if someone compliments me on it, I offer it to them. So last evening I was dining with my hubby in a fabu, upscale Italian joint... and a nice young woman came in alone, with an armload of shopping bags. She sat at the next table and ordered a HUGE serving of lasagna. Then she spied my button and started telling me all about why she supports Hillary! I gave her the button and made her promise to wear it. She was really happy about that!

That's the first one I have handed off in a restaurant! So far I have given them mainly to check-out clerks at in my area. Two at the grocery, two at gas stations, one at Target and one at Dillards.

Now adding some Hillary window clings to my purse..... as well as extra buttons. (I'd feel totally naked without mine!)

40. Either side
Shouldn't either side be there? Why have the rallies locked into to people already deciding to vote for her. Isn't the point of these to get new votes? Maybe try to turn a opposing candidates voter into yours or get someone undecided to vote for you. Many of the voters who have already made up thier mind need to give room to the competition or undecided.

It's hard to get new votes if the only people at your rallies are already voting for you.

23. threads like these
from both Obama & Clinton supporters only dumb down the dialog at DU & go a long way starting the name calling. Let's have some discussion about something important, not the OP giving away 7 total Hillary buttons. Who recommended this? It is a complete waste of DU space.

25. I like the picture in your sig line. For those who don't know the background:

That picture was taken at West Lafayette (IN) High School during the visit from Bill Clinton. A woman and her daughter (on the left) are Obama fans and managed to be among those who got in. The girl (early teens) was wearing an Obama sticker and the woman was holding a simple Obama sign -- handwritten on a piece of notebook paper. The woman on the right became furious at the sight of the Obama support -- she grabbed the young girl and ripped the sticker off her shirt, took the sign from her mother, and started tearing it apart. The Hillary supporters in the immediate vicinity cheered on the woman and her assault.

Great choice of signatures. God forbid that the First Amendment survive in this country.

26. Just an FYI...
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 01:04 PM by susankh4
this post was meant to accomplish a two things:

1) Give an idea to other Dem supporters who want to get the word out in a heavily Republican area.

2) Ferret out some more bottom feeders for my "ignore list."

If you are a positive thinking Dem and you want to have an effect, buy you some buttons and bumper stickers and have 'em handy for other supporters! I have a supply of "Clinton/Obama" buttons as well!

If you are a bottom feeder... Hey, thanks for identifying yourself!

Since your posting that picture I have to ask if you endorse people (no matter what age), physically removing one of your Hillary buttons from a supporter if they do not agree with it?

No matter who I root for I would not endorse physically touching someone else nor would I ever endorse verbal abuse. There is freedom of speech, no one has the right to take something out from someone else's hands or rip something off from someone's clothes and if the elder lady thought age gave her that right well shame on her.

35. That's great!!!
I had the same experience her in NJ. People would come up to me and tell me they supported her. I had so many requests for buttons on the street that I ended up carrying a bag with them in my purse. Our campaign office had to keep reordering them due to the high demand. I still have some of them and some window signs that I'll be taking with me to PA this weekend.

If anybody is near the Allentown office, come in and introduce yourselves. It would be nice to meet you.

45. Hillary the hypocrite - Predatory financing
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign manager, Maggie Williams, earned about $200,000 on the board of a Long Island subprime lender that charged prepayment penalties — a practice that Clinton, a critic of the subprime industry, now seeks to eliminate.

Williams, who took over the reins of Clinton’s campaign in early February, served as a director on the board of the Woodbury, N.Y.-based Delta Financial Corp. from April 2000 until the firm declared bankruptcy in December, according to Securities and Exchange Commission records.

Maggie must have been shell-shocked from the Bosnia War
