The RW media, working for us |
|
There's a lot of (justifiable) disgust here about the corporate-GOP media and their relentless spinning of polls to Rove's specifications: they're making it look like B*sh is still popular, like it's neck-and-neck, like Kerry doesn't have a chance.
We're pissed about that, and we should be.
However...
I sincerely believe that this poll spinning will end up working to our advantage. If the media reported these polls honestly, B*sh's unpopularity would be common knowledge--and those of us who want him gone, progressives, moderates, honest conservatives, would become complacent. The corporate-state and apocalyptic-wacko contingent would be incensed, and would have record voter turnout.
Our base needs to be energized; the lying liars do that for us very well indeed.

1. Complacency, our biggest enemy |

Did I spell that right?
I was just thinking this exact thing after reading Novak's comments about Ohio & Florida. When Dems vote, Dems win. And things have to be really bad with a close race to get us to the polls. I'd actually rather have a tight race or Kerry down a few points to make sure every Democrat gets out there and votes.
