Bush totally screws up traffic in New Orleans
Bush was giving a commencement speech at LSU (in Baton Rouge 60 miles from New Orleans) but for whatever reason he apparently landed in New Orleans and created utter havoc for early afternoon commuters (and this being Friday everybody seems to get off at 3). They completely blocked the interstate and forced everyone off onto side roads (and because of geography, New Orleans doesn't have a loop or any other means of bypassing such a closure save for old-fashion ground level driving). Took me 45 minutes to make a whopping 6 mile drive. Those living further out were totally screwed. GW sure didn't win any commuter votes today.

Wait - the airport is on the outskirts, the BR side of NOLA - where was I-10 blocked?

4. Bush was in NOLA to collect money for the "deduct box".
"People in Louisiana have the same kitchen-table concern as people in other parts of the country,'' Mr. Singer said. "And they know George Bush has not delivered.''

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/22/politics/campaign/22bush.html
<snip>
Mr. Bush delivered his address, of roughly 17 minutes, in a packed arena before traveling to a suburb of New Orleans to speak to Republican donors at the home of a supporter, Edward Ludwig III, a builder. The donors paid $2,000 a person to attend a stand-up reception, or $25,000 a couple for a sit-down luncheon, at Mr. Ludwig's home, a stucco house in the style of a small French chateau. Bush aides said the events together brought in about $2 million.

.

Or even Welcome for that matter!

While the US is not yet the worst country in the World,

I'd bet it's right up there as the most hated ?

A heck of a legacy.

12. I don't know.........
Many Catholics in LA are very pro-life. That might nullify any gain he would get from Catholics.

10. You can't really blame Bush
Every president -- even unelected ones -- cause all kinds of traffic problems when they visit a major city. You should have seen the traffic jams Clinton caused when he came to my city back in '93!
