is another organization like this going to be effective? There are so many springing up with petitions and stuff, it's hard to know which are worthwhile and which are a waste of time. This is a survey. But, there are other surveys out there.

Tell Kerry What You Think!

Click here to take the Coalition for America 2004 Survey now!

In the 2004 Presidential campaign, there is strong enthusiasm and consensus around the notion of "Anybody but Bush". But there is not the same kind of conviction and enthusiasm for the only candidate with a realistic chance of beating him - John Kerry. To win, we believe Kerry must address the issues that are currently distancing him from many voters.

WeCount.org and Media-Screen Market Research are conducting this survey to determine where you stand on key campaign issues, whether John Kerry represents your views, and if not, how he could refine his positions on the issues to gain your support.

Finally, receiving "endorsements" from former rivals might not be enough to beat Bush. Kerry needs these leaders and their supporters to know that the issues they feel most strongly about will be represented in his administration. Does Kerry need to reach out and build formal partnerships with other political leaders and constituents in order to win the 2004 election? We look to you for your opinions.

Our findings will be presented to John Kerry's campaign, potential coalition members, and organizations such as MoveOn and True Majority, who can extend the impact of the survey by conducting it with their members.

Please note that we will ask you to write in differences between your opinions and Kerry's on the issues, if you don't agree with his positions. Thanks for taking the time to do this. The write-in results we obtain will be used to improve multiple-choice answers in a future, more widely distributed version of the survey.

Help shape the direction of the Presidential race and the new administration by taking 10-15 minutes to answer the following questions.

Here is the link to the survey:

1. I don't know
Kind of hard to say. It depends on how they tabulate these survey results. But it's easy enough to imagine a scenario when either people to the right or to the left of Kerry use the data to show that he's out of step with his party.

Looking at some of the survey questions, they seem pretty fair. And they do provide supporting info on Kerry's position. I see some questions that seem worded more lefist and others that are more centrist/conservative. But it seems pretty balanced on whole.

I guess we won't knwo for sure until we see what they do with this information.

2. #1: withdraw Halliburton from Iraq.
#2: Have the Rev. Jesse Jackson negotiate a truce with the cleric Sadr, who does NOT have to be an enemy of the Kerry Administration/USA. #3: Use ex-heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, who is respected by Islamic people around the globe, and is recognized for the trials involving his C.O. status in the late 1960s. These steps would lead to a rapid de-escalation in tensions in Iraq. And this opens the door for peaceful progress. President bush lacks the moral capacity to take progressive steps towards reconciliation .... both in America and Iraq.
