Let's take back our country!!!
In a little less than a week the "Pledge your Vote" online poll at Congress.org went from a fairly representative picture of the opinions of Americans to a Republican sham. It seems that the folks over at Free Republic put out the word to their minions to hit the site and vote. During that time over 12,000 Republicans have logged their vote for the pResident and subsequently turned our nation into an ugly red mess! I would like to see if DU can turn this thing around? Take a moment and visit congress.org at the following link and pledge your vote:

http://congress.org/congressorg/pyv/stats/?action=stats

then pass this link on to every progressive American of voting age you know. Let's see if we can turn the country Blue again!

2. Here is what their sites says about them...
Congress.org is a service of Capitol Advantage, a private, non-partisan company that specializes in facilitating civic participation.

Congress.org allows users to:

Identify and contact elected leaders in Congress, the White House, and state legislatures

Post letters online in Letters to Leaders and read what other Americans are saying to elected officials

Create and post Soapbox action alerts to enlist others on your issue.

Have letters printed and hand-delivered to Congress (there is a fee for this Extra Impact service)

Find and contact local and national media by ZIP code or by state with Media Guide

Have your representative's votes sent to you weekly via e-mail with MegaVote

Search alerts and take action in the Issues and Action area (contact Capitol Advantage to get your organization's alerts on Congress.org, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL and more sites).

Capitol Advantage is the nation’s premier provider of grassroots solutions for corporations, nonprofit groups, associations, educational institutions, and other organizations. Founded in 1986, Capitol Advantage provides grassroots advocacy products and services to more than 1,200 organizations, including some of the nation’s largest and most respected portals and media companies as well as trade associations, nonprofit organizations and corporations.

Whether you are looking for a comprehensive online grassroots action center, personalized congressional and media print directories, or hands-on strategic and tactical consulting support, Capitol Advantage is the only source of support you will need.

They seem pretty harmless to me, and the poll requires that you input all of your information so that people can not vote twice. I logged my vote over a month ago and have not received any spam from them. As a matter of fact they claim that your information will not be used in that manner. Ultimately it is your call as to whether you want to input your info but it doesn't bother me one bit.

5. of course
wouldn't have been very sneaky if I didn't ;-)

besides, in Canada we have postal codes (6 characters long), not zip codes.

I just googled "Alaska zip codes", easy as pie. Yes it authenticates by email address, but I could easily create a bajillion free accounts. Or if I have access to my own email server (which I do) I could just create a bajillion aliases that all go to the same main address.
