Non-partisan group says to pick Clark |
|
http://www.nbr.co.nz/home/column_article.asp?id=9179&cid=15&cname=PoliticsWhile the Kerry campaign "has been very close-lipped" about those choices and "many names have been nosed about," Mr Mark said, retired General Wesley Clark, a failed contender for the Democratic nomination, looked increasingly like a front runner.
"Clark may have the best shot," he said.
The choice of General Clark would continue a developing trend when it comes to vice-presidential picks, which once were designed to expand a candidates' geographic reach.
Now, Mr Mark said, "the choice is more about reinforcing a certain message than collecting a region's vote. Clark is strong on national security matters and Kerry is perceived as weak, so it would be a good fit."

1. oh yes, please please please Mr. Kerry! |
|
Wesley Clark could do so much to win back the rest of the world's support and cooperation with us, and help make Americans more sympathetic and compassionate for the rest of the world. Not to mention that he would know exactly what to do about Iraq.

at least he admits to what he is.....
Winning isn't everything. There are worse things then 4 more years of bush and this may be one of them.

7. That tired line again? |
|
:wtf: does the man have to do to prove to YOU that he's a Democrat?
Thanks to people like Clark and others who have not been card-carrying Democrats since birth, many moderates have listened and now support Kerry.
Oh, but we don't want THEIR votes, they don't belong...

I care what this guy says.
If Kerry goes and does something stupid, like picks Edwards, I'll have to bail and I really don't want to have to do something like that. I won't vote for Shrub, mind you, but I will, to keep my sanity, have to write in a vote, which I know isn't good for Kerry and helps Bush. I simply cannot vote for prom kings and people who have less FP experience than *I* do and I'm not running for anything!

I'd like to see Clark, too, but Edward's selection should not be cause to bolt. Kerry could make Clark SoS, UN ambassador, NSC head or some other hi-profile, important slot in his administration. He is too valuable not to be utilized by Kerry.

I worked my ass off for Clark's campaign, natch I want him as Veep, but John Edwards is very magnetic, and a terrific speaker/debater, what are you basing this statement on? You would not vote for Kerry because he put JRE on the ticket? That's kind of nuts, and I am a diehard Clarkie!! Either one would be fine with me.

You know why I don't like Edwards, so I'm not going to repeat it - but, ultimately, it has more to do with my being an Independent than a Democrat. Don't get me wrong, I won't vote for Shrub - but I may just have to write in Clark.
