Wes Clark On Blitzer - Next!
Just heard it now (4:25 p.m. central time). He's up next, and this show doesn't repeat. Just thought you'd want to know. Leavin' now to see Kerry in Green Bay.

5. ok, he's finished now
and I can paraphrase the rest as: We are going down a slippery slope in Iraq, and as long as we go against our values, we will not win the war. (speaking about Abu Gharaib) Also, we need to stop acting as if we are the only residents of the world.

It was a pretty short segment, but he was clear and concise as always.

7. He referred to the danger of becoming a typical Colonial power
He did that in the context of describing the slippery slope Bush is taking us down. He said we are in danger of our actions in the world becoming identical to past Colonial powers, and that Colonial powers ultimately do not succeed.

Clark was emphatic in saying that War does not require us to abandon our basic values as Americans, and he was specific about humane treatment of prisoners and judicial oversight of detention. The questioner tried to get Clark to admit that in War, standards of human rights are loosened, and Clark absolutely refused to go there, saying never in his experience or knowingly under his command.

He kept pointing back to Bush, saying there are reasons to believe, including one leaked memo about getting around the Geneva Conventions, that Bush set the tone for all the abuses that have happened, and he must be held accountable in this election.

8. He was terrific!
Did you notice how he controlled the direction of the conversation?

He made the points he wanted to make, & left CNN idiot in the dust.

9. Oh my
Wes gave Miles the General Smackdown! Surely, General, in war, in Vietnam, in all these years in the military, you witnessed this sort of thing or knew of it... something like that. Wes goes: "Absolutely not! I wouldn't have tolerated it!"

10. Why were the two other Clark discussions about
him being on tv locked and diverted to a thread about an article someone wrote about Clark and the possibilities of him being VP?
:WTF: aren't we allowed more than one discussion about Clark at a time? I seem to see many about Edwards. If you don't shape up...
I will report you to the moderators. LOL :hi: :)

12. If you have questions about a locked thread.
Please post them in Ask the Administrator. The two threads to which you refer were diverted here because (Wolf) Blitzer in on CNN.

13. I Think They're Just Saying That Your Redirect in the Locked Threads
Points to the unrelated "Non-partisan group says to pick Clark" thread, rather than to this thread. That's all.
