Poll question: What would you do if Barack Obama wins the Democratic nomination? |

Let's see how DUers would react to it.

5. We also need to think about the congressional seats. |
|
Obama is pretty safe against McCain. Unless McCain starts getting up there in the polls then Obama will have little trouble for some months.
After he becomes the presumptive nomineee we need to focus on the Congressional Seats! There is alot of seats up for grabs and every contest will be active! We need to work hard!!

Getting him elected is going to be an uphill battle, and we should not kid ourselves about that. I believe in him and I think he can win but it's not going to be easy, and we're going to need all hands on deck to help him get there.

I just signed up last week for the Neighoborhood Leader program, and tonight I spoke with one of the leaders for the Kendall County (IL14) Democratic Woman's club, and expressed my interest to be a committeeman for my precinct. In both cases, I would be going door to door for our Dem candidates. I told my DH tonight that it would be incredible to pull in to our neighborhood and see the streets lined with Obama signs... That's my goal :D

billbuckhead just recommended adding it to the poll. He/she did not say he/she would vote Green. Besides, he/she lives in Atlanta, so does it really matter? If people who don't live in competitive states want to cast protest votes that's fine with me. It's the people who live in swing states and say they won't vote for whichever Democrat gets the nomination that bug me.

vote McCain....no,wait...hold on...I'm full of shit. What a dumbass poll... I for one, will donate, support, campaign for whoever gets the nom from our party. It is incomprehensible to me that after the 7 1/2 year shitstorm our country's been hammered with, how a real Democrat would not support the nominee, favorite or not. If they don't support our nominee, then they're not a true democrat at all. Oh...by the way, they're also the one who's really full of shit.

I will vote independent or socialist. I refuse to vote for someone who aided with me being disenfranchised. I have other longtime Dem friends from Florida who will also do the same if our vote isn't counted.
If he fights for us Floridians - I will vote for him and maybe contribute.

Hi, Katzenkavalier.
McCain has had it easy so far. I think he will face Obama in the general and by mid-October, I think McCain will be flailing on the floor, slobbering, and barking incoherent jibberish -- even more than he's doing now, I mean.
We need blue results up and down the ballot, coast to coast. I think Senator Obama bats 4th in that line-up, in the clean-up position, with the high slugging percentage, and McCain, in trying to pitch to him, can't even see home plate.

I won't be voting Democratic this autumn, for reasons that should be obvious from my profile. I suspect that what the OP meant to ask about, though, was people who perfectly well could vote for Obama, but will choose not to.

|
The one who said he/she will write in HRC lives in Connecticut. I live in Virginia and I sure as hell plan to vote for whoever gets the nomination, but if I lived in Massachusetts and HRC was the nominee, I'd consider writing in Obama. I'd consider voting third party too if there were any third party candidates I liked, but none appeal to me so far. I have no problem with people who live in solid red or blue states casting protest votes. It's the people who do it in swing states that bug the hell out of me.

55. I'm living in "Obama country" here |
|
You can't walk a block here in this city without running into an Obama yard sign, bumper sticker, or supporter. Campaigning for him here is kind of redundant, so even if I weren't the agoraphobic people-shunning wallflower that I am, I probably wouldn't get much accomplished doing it here.
I'll vote for him and donate to his campaign and to any "Howard Dean-friendly" branch of the Democratic party I can locate (with help from DU'ers of course). That's about it. Not much different than what I'll do if Clinton is nominated, except in her case I might try talking the inevitable backlash crop of Ron Paul* or "write-in candidate" voters into voting against McCain by voting for her. If that counts as campaigning for her then that'd be the only difference really.
*uh, yeah... for some reason Ron Paul is also quite popular here :eyes:
