1. Sure. If she thinks bringing it up will help people forget about it...

3. RIght? This woman shoots herself in the foot more than any candidate
I think I've ever seen. Lucky for her she's still getting a giant pass from the MSM. Two weeks on Wright couple days on Hillary lying about being shot at.

2. Yes I am.
As one who has actually been shot at, I have no problem with it whatsoever. Morbid humor is fairly common in the Armed Forces, though I really don't consider her joke morbid humor.

5. I'd understand that view if Hillary was actually in the armed forces.
Anyhoo. Thanks for answering and thank you for your service. :patriot:

4. I'm a Veteran and I think that doesn't give me anymore credibility than anyone else.
...on this issue

I know plenty of other Veterans that can't find Iraq and Iran on a map...

Being Veterans doesn't make us geopolitical geniuses or the moral arbiters of political discourse

I had all the self-righteous indignation and moral posturing I could tolerate with the Swift Boaters.

Clinton screwed up. She's a bullshitter.... what's new?

hmmm, are you thinkin, "Pissed off Veterans Against Clinton's BIG FIB?"

How much will it pay?... maybe I'll sign up.... this disability pension from the VA could use some um....

augmentation

"Real inegrity means KNOWIN' when you be HO'IN."

you may quote me if you like.

6. No, not starting a movement friend.
I just have an intense dislike of people that cheapen our soldier's service, or forget it, and I'm just wondering how this makes y'all feel. I also think you give yourself too little credit. Being a combat vet gives you all kinds of expertise in things normal folk have no idea about. Just my pair of pennies.

8. As a veteran I am no more important than a non-veteran
and do not see why someone always brings up this Hey veterans shit. Ask the poor working mother raising her children alone how she feels about it, I am much more interested in her answer.

10. Not okay with it
It is a cheap slap at vets who indeed have been pinned down by incoming (I'm no one of them). There is a real fear when one is a target by someone who wants to kill you, and to lie about Bosnia and then joke about it on a late night joke show is despicable. Hillary has no dignity or class. It's a character issue, and she owes an apology to battlefield veterans.

11. I'm a combat zone vet
And my opinion is no more important than any other law abiding tax paying American Citizen. Clinton and the sniper "incident" offends me not one iota. Politicians are running for President. Some of us fail to realize that.

14. Doesn't the fabrication bother you? It's a major character flaw to me.
She has exaggerated and puffed her credentials throughout the entire campaign and wouldn't have been "caught" on Bosnia if that tape hadn't been in someone's desk drawer. I think it made her unelectable against a war hero.

22. I guess I've become jaundiced to anything politicians say
What bothers me is the relative blindness of Obama supporters choosing not to see or to ignore anything approaching a fault of his. If I were King, both of them would give their delegates to Wesley Clark who would kick mccain's ass from sea to shining sea. I will enthusiastically support the Democratic Party Nominee in the general election and hope that whomever that is has the good sense to ensure that General Clark is somewhere in their administration.

15. "Snipergate" brought it home. The Clintons misrepresent "the truth" to the point of PATHOLOGY.
I don't want LIARS in OUR Executive Branch. Period.

But otherwise, it doesn't change my opinion of her as a candidate.

I was pissed when she lied and felt anger when she had the stupidity to make a joke out of it. Not fit to be commander and chief.

19. Were the U.S. soldiers at Tuzla drawing Combat Pay when she was there?
My guess is, they were. If so, then she certainly should be given credit for risking her life at least as much as the American soldiers on that base that day were.

I didn't see the Leno joke, but it doesn't matter./

There is nothing Hillary could have said that Obamaniacs would not find something to object about.

When you hate a person, as so many wingnuts and Obama supporters hate Hillary, it doesn't matter what they do or say -- you hate them regardless.

20. Nope. Not alright with it at all.
Here we have a politician who voted to send troops into harm's way without proper consideration of the facts. She considered the political ramifications of her IWR vote but not the human cost.

She was giggling like a sociopath when she lied about being under fire and now she jokes about sniper fire on Leno - hahaha.

I wonder how many family members of soldiers killed by snipers in Iraq were laughing at Hillary's joke.

21. I was in the Navy for nine years
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 09:30 AM by Symarip
I was in Bosnia though my role was minor compared to some people I know. In fact, the guy in the office next to me is physically fucked up from being over there for 8 months. His desk is like a pharmacy: pain pills galore.

Anyways, yeah, it does bother me a little bit. I think I'm more disappointed about the initial lie to begin with. And yes, it was a lie. You don't kinda sorta remember being shot at. I grew up in some of the worst parts of San Diego and Los Angeles and I remember vividly EVERY time I've been shot at. She can laugh about it now, which is fine, and it's politically smart, but yeah, it bothers me. I've lost respect for her, period.

That being said, I'd pull the lever for her just as hard as I would Obama in the General Election. She may not be my most favorite person in the world, but she ain't batshit crazy like McCain.
