I don't mind Hillary supporters but these people are wacko!

They love FOX NEWS because the insult Obama. But are too stupid to realize FOX WANTS Hillary to win.

Every good news story about Obama is "koolaid drinking" and every bad news is "Brilliant"

These people are the extreme that makes Hillary look bad.

There are Obama people like this I am sure also.

I love wacks Hillay people. Cracks me up!

I joined and was BANNED after one post. Join and post once and see how fast you can get banned. It is sort of fun!

10. I wonder if it's really some right wing religious site,
Big theme over there is Obama is unelectable, and NONE of them are going to support him in the General Election, (of course they are NOT racists, and John Dean is sexist, and Obama is a "gay basher" RIGHT!

It takes all kinds, but those folks over there appear not to be connected to reality, never read the news, or both.

97. problems?
Edited on Sun Apr-06-08 06:26 PM by mythyc
right now, currently, I'm broke. that's why. my girlfriend and i have maxed out all our credit cards and after rent gas and food, which has basically been as bargain shopping as possible, we're still having to borrow money from her parents to survive when any unexpected expenditures come up. how did this happen you ask? she was out of work for two years and we blew all our savings and just this year it's all finally caught up with us when the car engine blew late last year and we had to spend every last cent to fix it because no car means no work means you know what. thinking we're bums or low class eh? we're both college graduates, i with a first masters degree and working on a second. originally i was teaching at 3 separate colleges to keep us afloat. but teaching 10 classes every week while still taking further course work in an advanced degree made it difficult to, oh, i don't sleep, breathe, live, feel a moment's peace. So I cut my workload to a more manageable schedule of teaching at two colleges. she finally found part time work, but that still doesn't make up for (1) the cut in income lost from quitting at one college (2) the debt we accumulated in surviving even on top of or despite that. i coudn't buy my own family members Christmas presents this year, so sorry if i've offended you with the same inability to donate to DU.

Is that answer for why I haven't donated to DU good enough for you? I would say that I have a personal stake in this election, I feel like I can barely breathe sometimes, and that it even my frugal means despite all my education may soon not be enough to even sustain us. would you like a C.V. for proof, or to call the two colleges I teach at and the city planning office she works at to make sure I'm not lying?

I have every intention of donating to DU, a forum that I love, once my girlfriend and I are back up on our feet again, hopefully come summer time. I'm also currently petitioning the university I teach at (SFSU) to grant me a fee waiver since I also teach there so that the final year of my graduate studies is taken care of. if that happens, I'll not only be able to donate to DU, but to Obama, which it has been killing me that I am not able to do.

what gives you the right? :( your question is so offensive, and sorry to everyone else here for burdening you with my burdens

146. It's hard all over
I have a severe chronic illness I'd rather not discuss, and my partner and I certainly do have a hard time making ends meet. Yet I can manage to contribute a few bucks at crucial times to Obama's campaign, which I have been doing since November. It's the frequent small donors which have made Obama's campaign a real people's movement. The *real* people of the United States will have a President we put in, whom we put in office and can call our own!

So, I don't have bucks to spare for DU yet. How do you get 'privileges' here without giving money?

I have seen several occasions where HRC peeps wanted the media to jump on O(rezko, selma, etc).

The media has been very harsh on Hillary, i wont deny that, but it is what it is. During previous elections RW folks claimed that the media was slanted because they focused on their mistakes too much. The media follows the buzz, that is all.

64. The fundament of democracy is a press who will hold the politicians accountable
We have yet to have a story about how many citizens died in Iraq. We have yet to have a story about the Downing street memos.

The media during the last election gave Bush a free pass while vilifying Kerry and allowing the swiftboating to occur unchecked. The media has been attacking Clinton for decades. Watch the CNN/ MSBNC stories. ABC aired a right-wing movie (propaganda) about Clinton.

The media bias is one of the ultimate betrayals that we as Americans have endured.

17. The two issues at play here are serious.
Hillary supporters see the Obama supporters as young upstarts who want to redefine the Democratic Party in their own image -- and as a result, two things have emerged:

1. An attitude of blatant sexism against women;
2. An attitude of blatant age discrimination by the younger ones, who call Hillary supporters old and "over the hill."

I can see why this is a problem. If you cannot see this, then you are blind.
If Hillary supporters pointed out Obama's youth and picked on him because he was male, or even worse, because he is of color, then they might have a case; but they have simply pointed out he is not as experienced and he is new at presidential politics (which is all true).

Many Clinton supporters also wonder where these people were four years ago.

89. "I could care less" is an odd but well-established usage
And it's a bit presumptuous to assume that someone using a phrase you're not familiar with is simply in error.

http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-ico1.htm

A bit of history first: the original expression, of course, was I couldn’t care less, meaning “it is impossible for me to have less interest or concern in this matter, since I am already utterly indifferent”. It is originally British. . . . It seems to have reached the US some time in the 1950s and to have become popular in the latter part of that decade. The inverted form I could care less was coined in the US and is found only there. It may have begun to be used in the early 1960s, though it turns up in a written form only in 1966. . . .

There’s a close link between the stress pattern of I could care less and the kind that appears in certain sarcastic or self-deprecatory phrases that are associated with the Yiddish heritage and (especially) New York Jewish speech. Perhaps the best known is I should be so lucky!, in which the real sense is often “I have no hope of being so lucky”, a closely similar stress pattern with the same sarcastic inversion of meaning. There’s no evidence to suggest that I could care less came directly from Yiddish, but the similarity is suggestive. There are other American expressions that have a similar sarcastic inversion of apparent sense, such as Tell me about it!, which usually means “Don’t tell me about it, because I know all about it already”. These may come from similar sources.

So it’s actually a very interesting linguistic development. But it is still regarded as slangy, and also has some social class stigma attached. And because it is hard to be sarcastic in writing, it loses its force when put on paper and just ends up looking stupid.

You say that many women will stay home. I am certain that if we allow McCain to appoint our justices, Roe v. Wade, will be overturned in the near future. Taken to its logical conclusion, this will be the legacy of her historic campaign, and serve a grave injustice to my daughters and granddaughters.

65. The kind of women who would sit this election out or vote McCain
are exactly the kind of women I prefer the party do without.

The party's redefining itself for the better. If the antiwar pro-people improvements don't suit you, the party's better off without people trying to pull it to the right.

There are plenty of good Republicans, Independents and Greens who hate this war and care about people. They'd be proud to fill in and I'd be proud to welcome them.

I intend to talk about race during this election in the South. The Republicans have been talking about it since 1968 in order to divide us, and I'm going to bring us together. Because you know what? White folks in the South who drive pickup trucks with Confederate flag decals on the back ought to be voting with us because their kids don't have health insurance either, and their kids need better schools too.

110. So you are cheering because Democrats will sit out this election?
You are cheering that they may be handing the White House to John McCain, ensuring 4 more years of war in Iraq, 4 more years without national health care, and more right-wingers appointed to the Supreme Court. You are cheering further erosion of our civil rights, further shredding of the constitution, and four more years of us as an international pariah. Is that what you are cheering? Think about it.

29. It's all a matter of perspective.
From my perspective as a 31 year old, I would say that Obama supporters see Hillary supporters as standing for the status quo and supporting the establishment sameness that has been such a disillusioning force in the lives of so many for so long. And as a result, many things have emerged:

1. An attitude of protectionism and hostility toward activated adults from the traditional power-brokers of politics, the aged establishment democrats.
2. Viscous, intense hostility toward newly engaged voters - even though that's what the party always says it wants and needs - and attempts to ridicule, harass and mock them into silence (its a cult!)
3. An attitude of blatant racism, who defend Clinton surrogates who suggest Obama is an affirmative action candidate and excuse the Clinton campaign's tactical use of race as an issue.

I can see why this is a problem. If you cannot see this, then you are blind.
Obama supporters don't point out Clinton's age, or pick on her because she is female. Neither does the candidate. Ever. Hillary supporters make the false claimed that he is not as experienced, when his experience stacks up quite evenly to Clintons, minus all the false "mispeakings" of hers.

19. Obama a Black Panther!!!
I sorrow for my state. A poster over there with the moniker 'Wyoming Dem' posted a badly altered photo purporting to prove Senator Obama was a member of the Black Panthers. One, it wouldn't bother me, personally, if he were, and, two, it's a really BAD job with PhotShop!! I mean, he's got two differnt people's ears!!

Wacko is a pretty strong term. Obama is the overwhelming favorite in this contest, without a doubt. It may be more 'rational' to switch to Obama, but I have been in their shoes before, many times. It is hard to put in a lot of work for a candidate and see them lose. You keep hoping against hope that some miracle will happen, and your candidate will come out on top. You might even get angry about it. Rational? No. Human? Normal? Absolutely.

46. Look at this shithead's post in the same thread
"i will not vote for obama. however, if hillary does not get the nominee, god forbid, then we must stick together and all vote for mccain. otherwise, obama will still become president. if you stay at home, or write in a vote, or vote for nader, all of those will be a vote for obama the way our system is set up. Mccaiin will get about 35% and nader may get 3% and hillary supporters writing in her name or staying home may actually represent a good 8% so obama will get the other 49% which will give him the majority, as we will be splitting the vote between mccain, nader, writing in , and staying home. if we vote for mccain, then there will be only a 2% spoiler in nader and mccain will have a good chance. I pray hillary gets there, as i have been a voting democrat for 42 years and i have said all along that i would vote for mccain if obama were the nominee, and that i would leave the party after seeing this caucus, two part, re-do fiasco of outdated rules and etc. as for the sexism, it has always been there, it is just a little more blatant now. hillary can handle it. we need to be careful not to make this race about what it is not. hillary is a strong and capable candidate and her gender needs to stay in the background, as least as much as we can keep it there. i am not voting for her because she is a woman, and i am not terribly concerned about the sexist angle of this campaign. we are running a campaign for everybody and hillary does not need to be seen as the "woman" candidate. she is simply the candidate with the best qualifications. i have seen many posts about women's month and asking women to stand up and support another woman. that is not what we are about. stand up and support hillary because she is the best, not because she is a woman. i am glad she is a woman, and proud, but if she were not qualified I would not be voting for her. I couldn't vote for obama even if he were on the ticket with hillary as vp. i would have to not vote for hillary if she accepted him as second chair. It would kill me to vote for mccain if hillary were running, but even she cannot carry obama in my eyes. I have been blogging everywhere, and donating, and generally trying to help. i have my candle lit and i am praying hillary pulls ahead soon. i pray every night that something about obama will come out and stick, and badly, but i am afraid he might be teflon. he certainly is slick enough. he has raised my spidey sense right from the very first day. dont know what it is, but definitely know it is there. something is very wrong about the guy. i wrote howard dean about the florida delegates, the pressure on the superdelegates, and my views on the base democrats wanting hillary and about leaving if she is not the winner. i got a donation letter just like all of you. i feel like no one is driving the bus and the party is going over the cliff. obama will lose in november, no matter what. if he is crying foul about a little reprimand from hillary, what is he going to do when the full weight of the republican election machine lands on him? pick up his toys, and cry no fair, and go home, like he did when his employers in chicago told him he could not date michelle because they both worked at the same firm and there were rules against dating co-workers. he stamped his feet and threatened to quit and got his bratty way. that is not someone i want for president. and i told dean that the delegates should be seated on the standing vote, as it was probably the fairest primary of the election in florida. no one campaigned and the voters decided on the issues alone. there was no time or chance for the pied piper to put them in a trance and chant vote for me vote for me. all candidates were on the ballot and the field was level. fundraising abitity played no part, and both parties had a fair shot. and on that primary, obama even got to run ads no one else had, and still he lost so now he doesnt want the votes counted. he was the one with the advantage from the ads and she still won. . he is a whiner. cant and wont go there, and will leave party if things go that way."

no votes for Obama, no way.

This is what happens when you have people who actually trust Hillary and Bill, and listen to what they say. They echo the EXACT SAME SENTIMENTS that Hillary and Bill have given about Obama, again and again.

All he has is a speech... is disenfranchising... is stealing the election with a caucus system... whatever

38. This thread (the longest one) has some good stuff in it:
Thread "If Obama Was The Nominee - Would Clinton Supporters Vote For Him In The General Election?"

The only acceptable answer is "no", but you're allowed to be specific on why not:

"Let's put it this way - there's more of a chance of seeing hell freeze over than me voting for Obama. Should it be the case come November that he is the nominee, I've got no choice but to cross party lines and vote McCain. It pains me as a life-long Democrat to do this but at least I know where McCain's patriotism lies and he does't he chase rainbows."

"I cannot vote for Obama. For the first time, I may vote republican- but this wouldn't be that far of a stretch for me because I'm not that far to the left. My main issue is gay rights and I figure that Obama really wouldn't be any better than a republican candidate. So, it's not a big deal for me."

"I will never vote for hussien obama- a man who rose to power the same way hitler did-by the stupid masses being brain washed. I'll write in Hillary"

"When you get seriously ill (what the USA is having now)-like any episode in the "House" show, do you want someone who just gets his/her medical degree (a resident=Obama) or who you really need (Dr. House=Hillary) to treat you? For the above-mentioned reason, NO for OBAMA."

"He's far more scary than the Republicans. He's a Democrat in sheep's clothing. The Wolf will come out far worse than any Republican could ever imagine doing."

"Obama is the type of person who looks fresh and clean on the outside, but once you dig below the surface, there lies a cold, heartless human being. If Obama was president I don't think I could sleep at night."

"I will never vote for that man. The way he's run his campaign, his inexperience, his sexism toward Hillary, his incitement of rabid followers... and he calls himself a man who can unite???"

"I would rather sever both hands then pencil him in on my ballot so that is a resounding NO from me."

"The DNC should support the candidate that does not hate America. To vote for Obama because they are afraid of rioting would be ridiculous."

"I'm a little dense... Why would McCain lose if we split the Dem vote between Obamination and Hillary? (If we had to, which we won't.)"

60. what?
Where do people get this shit?

His campaign and his supporters have pissed off almost 80-90% of life long Democrat base.

REALLY? 80-90%? Uh, doesn't that mean she'd be winning if 80-90% of life-long Democrats were pissed off at him and/or were for Hillary? It's not my intention to denigrate Clinton supporters, but I heard a similar inanity on Randi Rhodes the other day, when a "pissed off" Clinton supporter told Sam Seder that "50% of Democrats are tired of the Clinton bashing on Air America and they're losing their base." Sam calmly informed her that the majority of AAR listeners are pro-Obama... as is, apparently, the electorate.

I'm not one to go nyah-nyah at Clinton supporters, I admire their loyalty, quite frankly... but this Everybody Hates Obama/Stop Picking on Hillary meme is getting exasperating.

and completely absurd. The "Legal action" mentioned in the Obama spam warning thread for someone coming to a discussion board, looking at some posts and then saying bad things about the usernames there on another board provides grounds for legal action??? Good luck with that.

Here's a test case - "Murray, the one who posted the silly legal action warning, is a complete Wacko for thinking he/she/it can force a prosecution for something so ridiculous."

92. More anti-Obama than pro-Hillary, it appears.
Pretty creepy. And of course, there's a link to Taylor Marsh right at the top.

There are some very ugly posts there. They nearly all say they won't vote for Obama under any circumstances, which is quite the phenomenon with Hillary's supporters.

Did ya see that banner up top?

Weird.

Where is the "stop McCain" banner?

I'll at least respect their privacy - they can have her.

94. The site is certainly trying to keep itself secretive
Here's the WhoIs lookup:

http://whois.domaintools.com/hillaryclintonforum.net
Organisation Name.... Murray Lipp
Organisation Address. P O Box 99800
Organisation Address.
Organisation Address. EmeryVille
Organisation Address. 94662
Organisation Address. CA
Organisation Address. US

However, the only Murray Lipp I can find any reference to died in 1980. And googling on the P.O. box brings up this statement about a different domain with the same registration address:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=437671

The Emeryville address is revealing: It shows that the domain was
registered through an anoymizing service offered by Yahoo under the
name "Yahoo! Private Domain Registration". Only registrations done
through that service have that P.O. Box address. It is a fact that
reputable companies have no reason to conceal their identities and
actual locations. Only the owner's name remains unchanged, but nothing
is easier than to register a domain with a fake name.

So -- fake name, fake address, and anonymous registration. Pretty clear that someone has something to hide.

100. Your comment is even creepier
On the Net, where anybody can pretend to be anything, it's important to know whom you're dealing with. That's almost the exact opposite of stalking -- it's checking out a site's bona fides for your own protection, not harassing anybody or prying into anyone's private life.

This thread started out accusing Hillary supporters of extreme whackiness, but then the question came up of who was really behind the site and what its real purpose was. If it's a deliberate right-wing disruption, intended to fragment the Democratic Party, it's important for both Hillary and Obama supporters to be aware of that.

Unfortunately, we can't tell whether it is -- but the very opaqueness of its registration information suggests that whatever goes on there should be taken with a grain of salt.

104. Some of these posts seem like proMoaist comments. They talk about deprogramming and
reeducating. Sorry, this are terms from the cultural revolution in China. Do we really want this?

If Hillary Clinton has supporters who talk on these terms, this is another reason not to support her.

Obama has supporters who stalk and publish information about other websites, possibly even putting posters and DU at risk of a lawsuit and retaliation. Some of you aren't thinking too clearly at the moment.

138. Oh, come on. I see this thing done all the time on any number of websites. It's hardly "stalking" if
the information is in the public record. "Stalking" is a much overused term, IMO, but let me define what would actually be "stalking" for you: if some DU'ers, or some posters at any website for that matter, took that info and started calling the person listed as the proprietor's home phone, workplace, etc., etc. I highly doubt anyone here is going to start doing that.

James said "OK...but remember one thing girl...Hillary will still be Diva Numero Uno!" I laughed and said "yes I know that but do what you can so I come in a close 2nd".. tee hee. I know my hair isn't quite long enough yet to get her style but I'm going with the highlights like she has for sure. I thought that was cute what James told me and wanted to share"

...and they're not exactly for free speech, are they?

I think it is a very bad indication when a candidate's website has a forum where non-Hillary-fawning posts are deleted.

Remember how much fun it was to go protest Bush Jr and made to stand 2 miles from where Bush Jr was appearing?

I get the feeling that would be HRC's policy, too.

We must not let that woman get elected.

132. "WE CAN TEAR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY APART"
Wow, these people are real gems. Just pasting some of the choice quotes from a page I am reading:

"i have stated this numerous times here in the forum, and other blogs, if hillary should not receive the nomination, and either, one chooses to stay home, and another writes hillary's name in, THE WINNER OF THIS SCENARIO IS OBAMA

the only way we can be assured of beating him, is to vote MCCAIN

it is very simple, IF HILLARY CLINTON DOES NOT WIN THE NOMINEE, THEN OBAMA WINS IF WE DO NOT VOTE MCCAIN,

WE CAN TEAR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY APART BY LETTING THEM KNOW WE DID NOT LIKE THE WAY THEY ASSAILED AND ASSAULTED HILLARY CLINTON

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR TODAY BUT FOR FUTURE CANDIDATES AS WELL, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT! NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT WOMEN WILL NOT ALLOW OBAMA TO RANT AND RAVE HIS WAND IN THE FACE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WITH REMARKS OF HATE AND GOD DAMN AMERICA, AND WIN OUR HEARTS, MINDS AND SOULS WITH COMMENTS OF SUCH HATRED

NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MACHINE OF PELOSI, KENNEDY, REID, KERRY, DEAN, DURBIN, AND ANY OTHER LOSER, AND LET THEM KNOW WE WILL NOT TOLERATE IT, WE WILL NOT SIT BY WHILE YOU SATUATE THE AIRWAVES WITH YOUR LIES ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON

HILLARY IS OUR NOMINEE, SHE DESERVES IT BECAUSE SHE HAS EARNED IT THE HARD WAY, NOT OBAMA, HE IS WHERE HE IS BECAUSE HE IS BLACK, AND SOMEONE? SOROS? IS FUNDING HIS CAMPAIGN, NOT THE INTERNET, SO LETS STOP WITH THAT NONSENSE

ON THE SHAWN HANNITY SHOW ON FRIDAY A CALLER, A WOMAN, STATED SHE IS TIRED OF THE MEDIA BIAS AGAINST HILLARY CLINTON, AND TO LET OBAMA KNOW THAT ALL WOMEN WHO ARE VOTING FOR HILLARY CLINTON AS THEIR NOMINEE WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA IF HE BECOMES THE NOMINEE

STAND UP FOR THIS, OTHERWISE YOU MAY AS WELL STOP WHAT YOUR DOING AND PLAN YOUR SUMMER VACATIONS NOW"

"1) the idea is Hillary will win the nomination
2) at ALL expense, we need to keep Obama out of the White House
3) regardless of what happens by June and beyond, we should keep this site open and alive
4) if #1 fails: we should deside collectivly what to do next
5) in keeping with #2 a vote for McCain is more assurance of this happening and this has to be the ultimate goal"

http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?s=a91ed534dc42e26eec21b45eb6e673b5&t=5068

Seriously? What the hell is this? Excuse me while I go mop up my brain from the walls.

and completely absurd. The "Legal action" mentioned in the Obama spam warning thread for someone coming to a discussion board, looking at some posts and then saying bad things about the usernames there on another board - this constitutes grounds for legal action??? Good luck with that.

Here's a test case - "Murray, the one who posted the silly legal action warning, is a complete Wacko for thinking he/she/it can force a prosecution for something so ridiculous."

I eagerly await a call from the authorities...

143. Their admin is openly backing McCain over Obama
These people are NOT Democrats whatsoever. They want to accuse Obama supporters of being part of a "cult", but these people are truly exhibiting cult-like signs.

Check out the ADMIN's own post about supporting Condaliar Rice over Obama:

I'd vote for Rice over Obama in a heart-beat! (well, theoretically speaking as no GOP support from me!)

Any signs that McCain will definitely choose Rice? I actually think it would very much boost the McCain ticket to choose her...

http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?t=5025

The entire thread this post appears on is RACIST BULLSHIT. The premise is that if McCain picks Rice as his VP, that black women will automatically vote for her. As if black women do not have minds of their own, that they will simply see that a black woman is on the ticket, and won't look at her politics, her history, etc.
