The photo of Terry McAuliffe holding an Obama sign is CLEARLY photoshopped....

....I believe this is an attempt by Clinton supporters to damage Obama.

Here's the deal... remember the "debate tape" flap in 2000? Or the phony National Guard documents about Bush in 2004?

This is the same Rovian trick.

Here's the scenario:

1) Clinton supporter photoshops McAuliffe holding an Obama sign.
2) Obama supporters rush to publicize this photo, not realizing it is photoshopped.
3) It makes it onto the news.
4) "Investigative reporting" reveals that it is a doctored photo.
5) Hillary camp's outrage over "doctored photo-gate" dominates the news coverage for a few days.

Notice that all the people posting the photo here are NEW ACCOUNTS with VERY LOW post counts.

This is the beginning of operation "smear Obama camp over doctored-photo" by the Hillary campaign taking a page from Bush in 2000 (debate tape gate) and 2004 (phony national guard documents).

Remember where you read it first....

3. Thank you for the extensive analysis of how the pics were altered, sans the extensive analysis.
Dude. When you make a claim, some evidence might be in order.

17. That looks like artifacting from a low-quality JPEG translation. Photoshop don't
look like that. It might be 'shopped, but that isn't evidence.

7. Don't think so -- orig post from Baltimore Sun (link)
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2008/04/clinton_man_has_obama_moment.html

"McAuliffe attended the regional caucuses of the Washington State Democrats over the weekend and graciously posed with some grass-roots Democrats.

What's really interesting, as you can see from these photos, is that McAuliffe posed with supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign and that a beaming McAuliffe helped them hold up their large Obama signs for the camera. McAuliffe is wearing his Clinton button but it's dwarfed by the Obama sign he's holding. "

He was being congenial. Really don't think these are photoshopped. If so, then I'm gullible, but I think he posed for these shots until PROVEN otherwise. I'm not really putting too much into it other than the novelty of it, though.

9. I just know how the Clintons (and Rove) operate.... so I am suspicious of any of these stories that
...INITIALLY look good for Obama.

This smells of a set-up.

That's all I'm saying...

Looks to me like a nice lady asked him to pose with her and her Obama sign and he was kind enough to do it.

13. I may be wrong, but I'm suspicious of any stories that INITIALLY look good for Obama....
...This story is too easy...

I'm gunshy about this kind of stuff, ever since debate-tape-gate in 2000 and doctored-National-Guard-documents in 2004.

This smells like a set-up.

23. Mmmm, no way to know what the signs really are....
they could have been printed locally, or printed by a local group (we did this) and as such, could differ from "official" Obama signs seen elsewhere.

IMO, I think Mr. McAuliffe was just being nice and posing with supporters. Why not?

20. Terry McAulifee may be a rare breed.
You know, a Democrat who supports Clinton and doesn't hate Obama or his supporters?

If there is a manufactured scandal here, it'll be a funny one. Take a step back. There is just no there there.

Hi all....

Wow, a few photos sure make their way across the internet pretty damn fast. The photos are not photoshopped. Came straight from a friends digital camera and I was the one who sent them to a contact of mine at the Chicago tribune who posted them on their blog. Strange moment...real photo.
