How do we know she calculated correctly.
I wouldn't trust her to go to the grocery store and bring me back my change.
Recall that she said she was "surprised" by how much her husband made when she saw the tax returns.
That means that she signs her name to a legal document and doesn't know if it is an accurate amount.

24. I saw the Towering Clinferno campaign... |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 09:35 PM by TwoSparkles
..up close and personal in Iowa. I was completely aghast at what I saw. Remember. Clinton was "inevitable" by the time all of the campaigns rolled into our state.
I've written about this before, so I'll spare most of the gory details, but I've never seen such a discombobulated, miscalculated, disingenuous campaign effort in my life.
Hillary planted questions. An Iowan asked her about Kyl/Lieberman and she shot back and accused him of being a plant. The week one of her Iowa Directors was fired for sending out "Barack is a Muslim" emails, Senator Bob Kerrey endorses Hillary by saying, "I can't wait to run against Barack Hussein Obama!"
The campaign gave out free coffee mugs, to people who would sign pledge cards. She organized "Hill-O-Copter" rides, in some bizarre tour-of-Iowa PR stunt. When she got the message that Iowans really didn't like her, she traveled with a gaggle of her bestist friends from preschool--in an attempt to humanize her. It was as if she was running for Prom Queen.
Meanwhile, Obama and Edwards were criss-crossing the state--answering questions, meeting with small groups and really talking with Iowans. Hillary's events were mostly large, impersonal and orchestrated.
The campaign was more than a failure--it was a total joke.
As a person in the state to vote first--I just hoped that other states would reject her and experience what I did with Obama and his amazing campaign.
Then, Obama broke out and began gaining momentum.
She is not ready on "Day One." Her campaign was so disjointed, insincere and unorganized from "Day One." It's only worsened.
I'm just so glad that--state-by-state Obama has kept up the fight and has now pretty much clinched the nomination. After what I saw...holy buckets. Thank God there was an alternative to her.

31. That's why if I really want to know.... |
|
...what's going on with the campaign--I read the major dailies in the state in which our Dems are campaigning.
The MSM glosses over the campaigns and fails to report many of the important stories on the ground that will greatly affect those who will be voting soon.
When she planted questions in Iowa--it was a huge deal here, because it was very insulting to the people of Iowa. We take our "first in the nation" status seriously and we demand honesty and openness from these candidates. We feel obligated to make wise, informed choices!
She planted questions, and was caught. A college student came forward to tell about a notebook with questions and the words "college student" written next to the question that they asked this student to ask. Out of hundreds of audience members, Hillary picked this student and the student asked the planted question. Hillary said, "Good question. College students often ask me about this..." :wow:
Then, after being caught, the campaign denied this and said that they didn't plant questions. Then, another person stepped forward to account how the Clinton campaign asked her to ask a planted question!
This didn't get a lot of play nationally, but it really affected people here, and it opened the door for Edwards and Obama. People began looking for an alternative, even though she had our former governor's endorsement and the coveted endorsement from Iowa's largest newspapers and all of the Union endorsements.

69. Wrong. It is an entirely logical argument. YOUR argument, however... |
|
...is illogical.
Your entire premise is based on an assumption about the future for which you have presented no evidence, and for which there is ample evidence to prove your assumption to be very unlikely.
The following is an example of a logical argument:
-------------
Argument: It is illogical to assume that Hillary Clinton will bring our troops home and deescalate the Iraq War because there is more evidence to indicate that she would not than there is to indicate she would.
Evidence to indicate she would: Her promises in a presidential campaign in which she is running, when her opponent has a history of being against the war, and when the country has turned strongly against the war.
Evidence to indicate she would not withdraw the troops and deescalate the war:
Premise #1: Her past history shows her to have voted to authorize the Iraq war (even when there was evidence to strongly indicate the reasons for entering the wars were untrue), to over the years defend her decision to enter into the war, and to continue to support the war.
Evidence: 1) She voted for the Iraq War, even when she had documentation in hand to show the reasons given were false. 2) She defended her vote, and supported the Iraq war, right up until the time that she wanted to run for office. 3) She did not make any credible efforts to stop the war or bring our troops home.
Premise #2: She has shown herself to lie about specifics of her history, both personal details, historical details, and details about her political experience and what she has supported, often at times when it suited her political interests to be perceived as different than what she truly is.
Evidence: 1) Sniper lie. 2) NAFTA lie. 3) Lies about her speaking out against the Iraq War.
Conclusion: It is illogical to assume that Hillary Clinton will bring our troops home and deescalate the Iraq War because there is more evidence to indicate that she would not than there is to indicate she would.

I am passionate about this issue, not as a put down but more as an expression of basic values that we should believe in.
We were always taught, " PURCHASE means YOU PAY IMMEDIATELY." It is a contract, even if it is a piece of candy.
And, my family always taught me, "To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Expected."

46. After they get finished reading the handbook on how to handle accounts payable they |
|
can read the handbook on how to fire consultants who sabotage your campaign by negotiating deals that are contrary to your stump speech.
They should get all of the handbooks read by day one.
Of course those are the handbooks for the campaign and not actually running the government.

71. How does that make someone feel that is middle class |
|
and struggling to pay the bills? How about someone that is living on food stamps with three kids?
How does it make any clear thinking voter feel to KNOW that a possible next President has no regard for a written contract?
My parents taught me, Your WORD and your SIGNATURE indicate your character. In our family, you never disgrace your Surname - never!
That has so many implications I cringe at the thought of it.
And how would you have the nerve to have outstanding bills for your campaign and your personal bank account is bulging at the seams?

about when choosing the responsible and caring candidate.
I'm reading Obama's first book and what you said about not disgracing your name.. that is certainly what he was taught and how he lives his life, and runs his campaign.

It's good to know that so many people understand what real Family Values mean in this election and in America.
The Republicans are always going on and on about Values and they don't have any.
What I love about the Obama campaign is the feeling that you get that so many are passionate about truly honoring "the content of ones character."
That is the legacy that we want to leave the next generation.

|
Every time someone posts a thread like this you guys just diss it without addressing it. I am not saying Obama supporters don't do that too, but if you think this is not a valid argument, say why not.

the Clinton campaign bills will go unpaid. I mean really. They probably are already paid. This is just one more piece of shit you guys like to throw out. It's meaningless. Has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Try thinking about real issues, i.e., Health Care, War, Economy - you know - things like that.
Hillary for President!!

control them. What position in Clinton's White House would you like Penn to have? Chief of Staff?

72. Health Care? The War?The Economy? You must be kidding |
|
How many children and adults can't even go to the Emergency Room because they can't afford it?
We have Homeless people on the streets dying of HIV and can't get treated.
We have hospitals closing because Blue Cross refuses to pay for treatments. So many being turned away to die.
And this "role model" that tells us what she can do to implement a viable Health Care system for America is someone to Trust!? I don't think so!
The WAR ~ our current Commander in Thief doesn't give one damn that we are in a recession at this moment because of his senseless WAR.
So you are all for putting Hillary Hilton in the WH?
How can she possibly approve or deny trillions for the WAR efforts when she can't even balance a check book? And don't claim that she is "too busy" when our soldiers can't get minimal health care when they return from battle.
Let them eat cake? :(
The ECONOMY: Try this on for size ~ go to your own bank and tell them that you will pay your loan on your house as soon as this campaign is over. Tell them you're "too busy" waving HILLARY signs and putting down OBAMA to run to the bank and figure it all out.
Since Hillary Hilton will "take it to the convention" that means you would not get around to paying your house note until Summer '08.
I don't think so! Your loan is DUE and PAYABLE now and so are hers.

|
they run. Obama's has been masterfully crafted and executed. He even pays the bills! Hillary, on the other hand, has made all kinds of mistakes and having bill collectors coming after her takes the cake.

78. Whatever, she'll have won all three states in the USA! PA, OH, and FL! |
|
Therefore, she should get the nomination. In fact, let's get rid of the primaries. We should just have rolling average polls in those three states, and that's how we decide the nominee. :sarcasm:
