Rasmussen Tracking: Kerry 46%, Bush 44%. |
|
After a 45-45 tie for 2 days, Kerry ticks upward. In short, Reagan-mania is (so far) having no statistically significant effect on polling results. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Presidential_Tracking_Poll.htm-MR

2. I'm Cheered by All These Numbers |
|
not so much because of the spread, but because of the stability. Nothing seems to be hurting Kerry and nothing seems to be helping Bush. In previous elections, I remember swings of 20-30% in the spread. By contrast, these numbers are very stable. And to the extent that they will change, Kerry has more opportunity to make headway than W.
For a challenger to be running even at this point is excellent.

Incumbents who win have double digit leads at this point.
As for any bounce, we have to wait until after Chimpy's eulogy to get a true idea. However, it's good to see nothing so far.
