"Candle in the Wind" from Elton to Hillary |
|
Goodbye, Hillary Diane Though I never knew her at all She has the grace to hold herself While all her staffers crawled They crawled like roaches out of the woodwork And they whispered into her brain They set her on the treadmill And they made her change her name
And it seems to me she lives life Like a candle in the wind Never knowing which ideology to cling to When the primaries set in And I would have liked to have known her But I was just a kid Her chances for nomination flickered out long before The legend ever did
Loneliness was tough The toughest role she ever played The White House made her a superstar And pain was the price she paid 'Specially when Bill lied Oh the press still hounds her All the papers had to say Was that Hillary stood behind her dude
Goodbye Hillary Diane From the young man in the 22nd row Who sees you as something as more than sexual More than just our First Lady
-- inspired by Sir Elton John

1. What a talentless hack, to say the least |
|
And only shit scraped out of the sewer would mock the death of Princess Diana
Definitely add this to your resume.

14. It's an Elton John tradition. He's done it time and again. Why not for Hillary? |
|
Certainly, Hillary inspired Maya Angelou to reheat "Rise" -- was she just goofing on her friend?

I can google a song, copy and paste it, change a few lyrics, insert somebody's name...But that doesn't put my "work" on par with Ms. Angelou or Mr. John...

47. Elton John mocks the death of Princess Di when he supports HRC |
|
Elton John got lots of free press and sympathy over his very public mourning at the death of Diana.
Princess Diana put a lot of time and effort into raising public awareness of the maiming and killing of civilians by cluster bombs - as most people know, these tens of thousands of "bomblets" are dropped over miles wide swaths of land containing homes and small farms of third world people. The Israelis pulled this in Lebanon, just a few days before the ceasefire went into effect. The predictable result is hundreds of civilian men, women and children have been killed since then, and thousands maimed and mutilated.
Clinton voted against the banning of these vicious weapons. She's made lots of excuses for her vote giving Bush the go-ahead to declare war on Iraq. What can HRC possibly say to justify approving these weapons? What can her supporters say? What can Elton John say?

I just find it ironic that an otherwise intelligent person would google some lyrics, copy and paste them, make some limited changes , and think it's clever...
Now, if you changed the lyrics and performed it on youtube I would be impressed...

What would a Norma Jean King be like? A gorgeous blonde with a great forehand? A tennis player whose dress keeps "accidentally" getting tossed up by random blasts of air?
