1. I'm recording it to watch later. However, I find it very ironic that MSNBC, home of Scarborough,
Buchanan and Rev. Wright 24/7.. is now trying to enlighten us on.. race.

However, I am looking foward to seeing this and hope the PUNDITS and MGMT at MSNBC learn something.

2. Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan
need educating and this is one way of addressing that.

You have to understand, sometimes racism is caused by

ignorance and economical sanctions.

As Obama mentioned last night, folks have lost their

jobs and they find something they can hold on to.

Scarborough and Buchanan are looking to learn too.

3. Yes - it's... really, REALLY good!
As a genealogist, I can understand how exhilarating it is to discover where you came from.

7. I've been spending the evening hunting down some of hubby's family
Combing Ancestry etc. and watching the program. Caught it just by chance but it's a nice coincidence.

10. It's enlightening and rewarding to search out your ancestors...
Ancestry.com, despite the steep price for membership, is probably the best site for getting info quickly. It's not all there, but it's a great place to start.

13. I got a very reduced membership last year via Reminisce magazine
I only paid 1/3 the regular yearly price. Hope I can renew at a good deal again.

Btw, the LDS is working to put all of it's data online for free. They're in the beta testing stage. It will make Ancestry obsolete when LDS is finished. It could take years but it's coming.

Recently, I discovered that my hubby's maternal great grandparents lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, just like my mom's family. My mom could have easily stopped at his great grandpa's candy store. You know CH, that's what it's so often about. :D

6. Absolutely
and these are what the media should focus on to help change the thinking in this country.

This is showing how powerful of a speech he made on that fateful Tuesday.

I'm sure there is a lot more to follow after the success of this one.

9. Yes, I got all weepy (still sniffing) when he was looking out the stone
doorway to where the slave ships docked.

It is the same feeling I got when I lived in St. Thomas, as we were out on a boat, nearing a tiny island. It was then I learned the origins of the name "Buck Island" and I felt a little sad and hollow inside.

When he was looking out that window - he must've been feeling it X100.

11. The Ford commercial was a little unsettling, seeing as how old Henry
was a racist, and Nazi sympathizer.

12. I am and I'm weeping- it's a beautiful piece- really excellent.
I hope they repeat it and make it available to schools. Really well done. Brian Williams is doing an excellent job with the town hall meeting.

16. Why , yes...yes I am . My husband and I are watching it.
I am African American and Baby is European american. He's learning so much about the black experience, which is surprising because he was raised deepinthahart Texas and saw overt racism. I have explained to him what my family has undergone throughout the centuries but as he watched this film, he actually began to have tears run down his cheeks. It is the story of 98% of black families in America.

18. It was a great show, but I'm loving the discussion even more.
I've shed a few tears - a couple during the show - but a few more during the panel.

I have to thank obama for opening the door to having a real, adult discussion on this. Before hand, it would have just been a documentary - now they're taking just as much time to dissect it, discuss it, and offer solutions to moving forward on the right track.

19. I thought it was absolutely stunning
I thought it was going to be replayed at 12:00 and was going to catch the first 15 minutes (which I missed).

I think this wonderful film is destined to become a classic.

20. Its an amazing story
and there are many more like that around the country. People are
just preoccupied with their day to day activity to focus on
issues like these, but I believe strongly that the more folks
start searching within themselves the better it would be,
now not everyones going to be happy, because there are
folks who have made a lot of money from this type of division
and would be very unhappy with Obama bringing this to
the fore front.
