Ron Reagan Jr. justed slammed Dubya and the annointed ones |
|
in his eulogy. He said though his father was religious, he never wore his religion on his sleeve for the sake of politics, to garner votes (not exact quote, but close)
He went on to say that even after his dad was shot, he believed God saved him for a purpose, to do good, and he believed that was his responsibility, but not his mandate, and there is a big difference between the two.

2. Wow! Good zingers at the PR junta boys |

Thanks for the post, merh. Saw that Ron jr had made some good points in another post, but there was no mention of what those points were. Appreciate the info.
And welcome to the DU! :toast: Will look forward to reading your posts. :hi:

8. I love the free exchange of ideas |
|
and I love it when people are bold enough to be brutally honest, forsaking their safety for what they know is right. (Ronnie better hire a body guard, a food taster and a driver who starts the car with a remote now.)
Thanks for the welcome.

3. I like Ron Jr., but Reagan made a point of pandering to the |

Religious Right. In fact, I think he pretty much unleashed them.
I always remember how he while he pandered to them, he never went to church himself. But he made sure to really play to the most conservative of religious believers............And believe me, that was political and it was CONSTANT.

he is a son who lost his father, he was eulogizing him with love, yet he was slamming Dubya and his Klan for their sick, pervise religious superiority. He showed he doesn't want them hitching their wagons to his father. To his family.

4. hey I posted it too, got it rightfully moved by the mods. . . |
|
but you quoted him far better.
He expressed what I had been waiting to hear all bloody week.
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it'll more than likely go completely over *'s head.
* is such a dweeb.

5. The FReepers were shell shocked at first |
|
saying he was referring to Clinton, then Carter, then Reagan himself, now they are trashing Nancy, saying she was obsessed with RR and neglected her kids. How did Maureen and Michael come out so normal and Patti and Ronnie so disturbed..........

7. I think that was also a warning to Bush campaign! |
|
Not to use Ronald Reagan to win an election, the way he uses religion.
