I'm not "bitter"...
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 10:34 PM by kentuck
Why should I be bitter? Today the President of the United States came out to tell the American people that yes, he knew about the discussions where torture was discussed? He knew that this cuts at the very moral fiber of every honest American, but what does the press talk about? Obama's "condescending" remark. Why should I be bitter?

As we hear reports that we are going to spend up to $3 trillion dollars on a war that should never have happened, as our own citizens clung to the rooftops in New Orleans to escape the floodwaters that ravaged their homes and possessions, why I should I be bitter?

As we watch daily reports from the corporate media of the horse race between the politicians, as our economy sinks into a recession or worse, as people lose their jobs and their homes, as the generals and the leaders lie to us with every breath they take, why should I be bitter?

The truth? They can't handle the truth.

(on edit, to add this)

Tomorrow, I would like to hear Obama say this: "The American people have sacrificed until they have nothing else to sacrifice. I am asking for the Congress to sacrifice. Until the working people of this country get back on their feet, with good jobs and a good economy, I am calling on all the politicians in Washington to forfeit their planned pay raises. I am calling on them to give up their special interests connections that they have used to load up their own bank accounts. It's time we think of the rest of America. It's time we did something for the American people. Ask not what we can do for ourselves but what we can do for all of America."

1. Are you bitter that we can't have $2.00 gas?
Or even eviromentally friendly cars at a reasonable cost? Yes, I am bitter.

3. Yes,
We should all put on our happy faces. What's not to be optimistic about? :sarcasm:

It's a sad day when one of our own candidates tells us that another candidate is condescending because he dares tell it like it is. Bitter?? Oh, no. We are jolly happy optimists.

12. I'm happy
That $600 will mean that we can buy food and gas for two weeks.

Will we get another check when the two weeks are up?

14. Oh I am right there with you
but to think that will solve anything is silly, because, no you will not get another $600 in 2 weeks. The problem still exists.

6. And do NOT vote for that idiot Obama.

He is not ready for prime time. Kentuck, I'd have thought you knew something about small towns. Maybe you're a city boy.

Anyway, Obama stepped in it up to his scrawny neck and he's not going to get out.
