kerry ahead by 6 or more points in 3 recent polls
Bush ahead by 6 points only in one
http://pollingreport.com/wh04gen.htm
In reverse chronological order (without Nader--with Nader the margins are smaller but still sizeable)

ABC News/Washington Post
Bush 45--Kerry 53----Kerry +8

LA Times
Bush 44--Kerry 51----Kerry +7

Gallup
Bush 44--Kerry 50-----Kerry +6

The only poll with Bush ahead by 6 points is with Nader:

The Harris Poll
Bush 48--Kerry 42

Could it be? Is Kerry begining to open up a lead????? Is this fooking possible???????

2. Perhaps - let's just not get cocky on it!
You know, the thing's not over until November 2.

But you won't get cocky, will you?

6. I agree

the favorable poll numbers still have to be translated into votes.

4. I think NPR had Bush up by 1...
...but nevertheless, I like the general trend here.

5. Kerry is up by 3 in Rasmussen today,
which has been very tight recently. I take it all as very good news. All those tens of millions of dollars of ugly man's negative ads have done very little, if any, harm to Kerry. I think we're in good shape for this time in the election cycle.

8. those negative ads are comical

they were so poorly done, I don't see how anyone would be influenced to vote W by them. They're like a parody of themselves. I'm not saying this just because I don't like bush. I don't know if its just me, but when I see the latest Boosh campaign ad I get the impression they were done by some some two-bit ad firm in India. I was expecting something more polished given all the money they've spent. These ads are just laughably amateurish IMO.

9. Hey narcjen, I thought the same thing too!
I live in a "swing state" so I get to see them all. The Bush ads are very amateurish, almost like something you would see as a parody on Saturday Night Live. What in the world are they thinking? Do they not have more respect for their “base” than this? It’s down right comical.

7. Kerry is at or above 50% in all those polls! That is what I find
significant!

History shows below 46% (?) and the incumbent has never been re-elected? Bush's numbers are significant if that is the case! I am so happy!

13. I can see the headlines in the Neo-Liberal media...
"Failure as Democratic candidate Kerry still fails to open up very large lead over Bush".

14. Right, my repuke brother-in-law was saying how could Kerry
NOT be trouncing Bush with all the bad news? (Iraq, GI deaths, beheadings, POW abuse, etc.)

Of course, we all know that historically Kerry is way ahead of the game in terms of the polls at this point in a campaign. All recent incumbents losers, even though they had as bad favorable/unfavorable numbers as *, they were still leading in head to head match-ups while Kerry is leading Bush.
