if Kerry picks Edwards for VP it wont be because of media |
|
it will be because he believes edwards will be a good vp and because he has been tested on the national stage and therefore he would be comfortable with him.
also, that song playing at kerry campaign events "johnny be good" can be used for both kerry and edwards.
anyone that kerry picks will in the end be picked because he feels they will be a good vp and/or help him with the election. i feel anyone that kerry picks will be for a good reason because he really wants to win. even though they might not be my first choice.

5. Susan Estrich is close friends with Jim Johnson |
|
and he's the Kerry VP screener, she says Edwards has already been chosen as VP.

6. Since when has Susan Estrich |
|
ever been correct. Hell, she's on Faux News for God's sake.
And, if Jim Johnson is telling tales without Kerry's permission, he should be fired.

It is largely Kerry's staff who are lobbying agaist Edwards and discussing the Vice Presidential nomination with the media, which itself prompted Kerry to speak out about not bandying his selection about in the media.

7. If it's not the media...then what is it? All his FP experience? |
|
Or his nice smile? If Kerry picks Edwards...the media brainwashed him too. :argh:

13. Is FP the only quality that you feel important in a VP? |
|
How much Foreign Policy work does a VP do? I know they meet with some foreign leaders if the President, sec. of state and other diplomats are not available, but don't they do more fund raising and work in DC trying to get votes swayed the presidents way?
I'm trying to see how FP is a big part of the VP's requirements.

there's so much "blame it on the media" crap around these days. Whatever someone doesn't like is always some media-conspiracy. I'm not trying to defend the money-grubbing, expedient, lazy-ass reporters and their corporate whip-holders. Just saying that a lot of finger pointing towards them is off the mark.
What IS on the mark, imo, is what Moore has been saying about the media falling down on their job to inform us properly and ask proper questions about Iraq and the rest of the Bush-line!

you may change your mind. there is a reason Clinton hunting happened right when big business bought our news.

I haven't seen it since it isn't playing in my town. I'm looking forward to getting it on netflix eventually. But I still think folks claiming the media as a whole is pushing Edwards right now is kind of a crock.
Again, it's just one person's opinion.

as if kerry is sitting around wondering what fox news and other media people want. in 2000 it was kerry who was most talked up. he was kind of where edwards is today. but of course he didn't end up being picked. but i think he would have been a great pick.
whoever kerry will pick will be for good reasons. there are good and different reasons for picking many of the candidates.

18. Well said...there are good reasons for picking any of them |
|
Kerry will have all the information before and make the best choice.
I think we have to put faith in Kerry and his knowledge on this. We don't trust Kerry's judgement to pick the best VP, then how can we trust Kerry's judgement to run this nation?
No matter, who Kerry picks...I will be behind him and his choice 100%.
