PA vcould do something interesting
Group thinking that is not organized is an interesting phenomenom. I have no idea if it will happen, but it's possible that PA voters in the primary will decide that they want to be the deciders and bring this thing to a close by voting for the likely nominee. I actually doubt this will happen and think Hillary will win by 10 or so, but it's an intruiging possibility. PA voters have a lot of influence on the remaining path of the primary season. How will they use it?

1. That is possible. The problem is the only people who want to shut it down are Obamites anyway
That feeling has yet to reach swing voters or undecided superdelegates. They will use it the same way they did in 1980: vote to keep the underdog alive.

2. Um, no.
I have no problem with the voting continuing until it's all over, hillbot.

16. Just talked to my old boss yesterday
She lives in DC, and I don't know who she voted for on February 12, but I know she did not have a strong preference last time I talked to her. But when I saw her yesterday she said she just wanted it to be over...she'd probably vote for Obama now for that reason. So maybe there's some hope.

8. there is only ONE REASON she is being outspent...
BO has raised a boatload of money, from people who want him to have a chance to change the coursed of this nation...

Don't represent (implied poorly on your part) that something is UNFAIR because HRC doesn't have the $$$ in her coffers...

If she was the 'candidate of choice' for millions of people, she would have PLENTY of money...

9. Yeah, and? So did Carter. That was one reason Kennedy was the underdog
The popular vote margin is 1.4% and 2.6% if you adopt the Jeb Bush/Katherine Harris view. So why the difference in fund raising? Look at who supports each candidate. Obama is the candidate of choice for the affluent. Clinton's base is working folks.

10. Um what?
#1 Most polls show her in the lead in PA

#2 She gets multiple funding sources while he has to focus on grassroots donations.

#3 He has the money because people are donating at RAPID rates. How dare you talk about her being Outspent when the money comes from the people?! This is the people's money!

Outspent is silly simple fact is she got 20 with 7 she can use in the primary for march meaning that people are maxing out in her campaign. So she is not drawing in as many new donors meaning she is being out supported not outspent.

14. not so
The majority of dems I've spoken with, who favor either candidate, want this over.
They're sick of the real and perceived gutter politics coming from both sides.
They realize that this isn't "making the party stronger" and is only increasing the likelihood of a McCain win.

There's 9 weeks between the convention and GE. That's not enough time to heal the divisions in the party and mount a GE campaign.
As of now, McCain gets to sit back and watch as his opponents rip themselves apart.
Who gets the nomination is less important to him than having the dems fight each other all the way to the convention;
that way he gets quick 9 week fight against a candidate who is already beat to shit.
Right now, essentially, Clinton and Obama are doing all of McCain's negative campaigning for him.

Even Limbaugh realizes this and has a whole 'Opertation Chaos' thing he blathers about where he encourages people to vocally support Clinton or Obama.
It would be willful ignorance to think this hasn't had some effect on DU membership and the profuse number of divisive threads.

15. That isn't reflected in polling
If that were the case Clinton would tank as people like that abandoned her. As it stands she leads in PA and has a massive 62-26 lead in Kentucky. When polled about whether the race should end solid majorities so no and those who want it to end are almost all Obama supporters anyway/

20. which polling would that be?
the ones that show McCain down 10-20 points against either Clinton and Obama back in January?
or the ones that show he's now about even with Obama and ahead of Clinton?
Those polls show that this protracted fight IS having a negative effect on the GE race.

At this point neither Obama or Clinton can afford to lose any of their primary opponent's supporters.
