Rasmussen PA Poll: Clinton 47% Obama 44%
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/pennsylvania/pennsylvania_democratic_presidential_primary

The Democratic Presidential Primary in Pennsylvania is getting even closer. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows Hillary Clinton with 47% of the vote and Barack Obama with 44%. This election poll was conducted Thursday night, the night following a nationally televised debate between the candidates. Last Monday, Clinton was leading Obama 50% to 41%.

Obama’s support appears to be a bit softer than Clinton’s at this point in time. Six percent (6%) of Obama voters say there’s a good chance they could change their mind before voting. Only 2% of Clinton supporters say the same.

Overall, with less than a week to go, 9% of Pennsylvania voters remain undecided, 3% say there’s a good chance they will change their mind, and another 12% might change their mind. Among those who are certain how they will vote, Clinton leads 53% to 47%.

Perhaps the worst news in the survey for Clinton has nothing to do with the race getting closer. Fifty-seven percent (57%) say that the Superdelegates should honor the results of the primaries even if “something happens to convince Superdelegates that Hillary Clinton would have a better chance of beating John McCain.” If Clinton is deemed more electable, just 33% believe that the Superdelegates should select her over Obama. Clinton’s only viable path to the nomination is to convince the Superdelegates that they should vote for her despite Obama’s edge among pledged delegates.

1. That poll doesn't count
because a secret poll shows Clinton winning by 40 points.

12. Oh, that's funny
That's a bunch of propaganda to try and get people to give her some $$$ for the campaign. Was that posted by the same person that said Clinton would blow out Mississippi?

Only SUSA polls count
Unless the next SUSA poll shows a drop in Clinton support, in which case SUSA will be dead to me too.

7. If he keeps it this close he will likely win more delegates!
And it was done after the debate meaning that the debate did not harm Obama!!

Once he gets on his train tour he may be able to hold it at 3 or lower!!

GOBAMA!!!

14. Ahhh... the "expectations game" ... it's like baseball in the spring.
It's interesting that the polls don't incorporate the delegate allocation methods that emphasize those districts and regions that vote Democratic historically. It's clear that the percentage of delegates 'won' by each candidate will only accidentally match the percentage of the popular vote.

19. Something to think about... MOST of the NEW voters..the fired up YOUNGER ones
have never had a landline.. Polls are taken on landlines..

will they show up? My guess is YES they will..

We will not know much until after the election..

The uncountability of them may also foil plans to "count funny" too..hard to know just how much you "need", if you have a large pool of unknowns out there :)

29. however young ones SAY they're going to vote and then often don't get to the polls. Or
it's made difficult for them if they are away from home at college. They're supposed to vote in their own district and don't get the mail in voter pamphlet from home, etc. Thanks to for people who do the registration drives at college campuses. They really have helped this whole election cycle to be the biggest in my lifetime and are trying to make it more convenient for the young ones to vote.

31. This time seems to be different.. they have a candidate they really like
and if one stands in line for hours to just see them, it's also likely that they will take that last step and actually vote.. i think they are finally "getting it"..

I don't think that kerry actually "inspired" that many young people..or Gore.. Clinton might have, but things were not all that bad for young people back when he ran..so some may have not bothered to vote.. can't see many young people getting fired up over Bush1 or Reagan or Nixon or Ford or even Carter..

This is a generational thing.. Not since Bobby K & JFK, have I seen such enthusiasm..

28. If the poll is correct, Obama might pull this one off.
Keep in mind his younger followers aren't polled because they often don't have land lines.
