I am entrusting my relatively short future to Obama.
I'm older than many of you here. I maybe have 20 years left to my life, more if I was to be really careful (which is not in the cards!).Unlike many of you, there is not a whole lot of time left for mistakes for me. I feel as if I have to get it right. I worry that the money I've saved will be lost in this crazy economy. I'm worried that if I get sick I won't be able to get decent care. I'm worried that as I age and become more dependent on others there won't be anything that my government will be able to do to ease the burden of my care on my loved ones. Most of all, I'm worried that the world I leave will be much, much worse than the world the greeted me.

Whoever gains the White House has the future to face as well as the past to correct. It is a big order.

To me, Obama has the heart, the decency, the intelligence and the wisdom to set things right. For me, this is far from a "throw away" election.

18. my parents didn't make it this past year and they wanted to support
anyone but clinton. they wanted Edwards. Now they are gone and I have about 20 years too if I'm good. I know what you mean. I want the Old Republic back and hope once more. I think only Obama gives it to me. I can't take eight years of her doing this stuff.

8. I know. I don't even want to think about where my son would be...
jail, exile or a "safe house", I suspect.

9. Raven, you speak for me.
I feel such a sense of urgency to try to get us back on track again.

I want to live to see the harm the Republicans have wreaked on our country reversed.

12. I couldn't agree more!
I'm in the same boat, and I seriously wonder if anyone is capable of presiding over this mess. I'm for Obama for the same reasons you are. I truly feel he is our last hope, and this is basically a gut reaction. Frankly, the other 2 contenders scare the crap out of me.

13. And HRC
is right there with the Neo Con agenda itching to bomb Iran...she scares the crap out of me too-NOT just McCain. How many elected super delegates have we heard say their kids have convinced them to vote for Obama? Bob Casey, Amy Klobuchar and even Maria Shriver's daughters convinced her to support Obama. We have to listen to those that will inherit this mess.

20. I wouldn't "trust all that" to any Presidential Politician" in these times......
I'd be going through all I have..and stuffing it in walls and floorboards and I'd find a "safe place" to hide out...and put in a Security System (I don't like guns) and I would grow a veggie garden, can food and try to live on the least I can...and hope some damned dude WITH A GUN doesn't come at me and take my money out of the "walls and floorboards."

I understand what you say...more than you would know...but I'm not looking for another P-Resident to take care of me. I'm DONE WITH THAT...It's TIME TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN! Obama doesn't like those folks over 50...all his money comes from those younger. They will be COMING FOR THE REST OF US.. WE ARE USERS of WELFARE SS and the rest.

Take CARE OF YOURSELF and don't let ANY GREEDY POLITICIAN "SIREN SONG" you out of the LITTLE WE HAVE! They've taken away any money we can put in savings to give us a cushion agains growing inflation...anywhere from 6% to 12% depending on if you read financial news from Bull or Bear Sites.

We are COOKED...those over 50. Head to the BUNKERS AND PREPARE...keep a safe house...and lot's of CASH SOMEWHERE...where THEY CAN'T STEAL IT FROM US!!!!!!!

24. what a rediculous post
As Obama says...this should be about lifting each other up, not tearing each other down.

The merits of your post negatively disparaging the OP's positive post is rediculous.

Thanks for coming and adding something filthy to a positive post.

21. You're darn tooting this isn't a "throw-away" election.
It's the opposite. It is imperative to stop the bleeding. Another Republican in the WH will bleed us dry.
