CNN cuts Gen. Clark completely OUT of the 11:00 p.m. Replay of CNN ... |
|

of the Special Report on Iraq. The entire segment of the interview between General Clark and the Bush mouth piece has been removed from the re-broadcast that originally aired live at 8:00 p.m. But it was captured on US for Clark, and you can watch it here: video just uploaded! http://www.us4clark.com/mediaclips.html

Because of the oh-so-lovely Bush economy, I cannot afford anything but dial up. At 8 p.m., I was bathing my son, reading to him, getting him ready for bed and doing those things that the Mo'Foing right wing Christian nut jobs say they consider important, so I didn't watch the show. I didn't sweat it, either, thinking that I would just watch the replay at 11 p.m. Now... I'm having to sit and wait for this to download (thanks, btw, Ice - it's certainly not your fault that I don't have anything but dial up) to watch this important piece of commentary. CNN sucks. We should all register for Neilson boxes and purposely NEVER watch CNN unless the General is on. Of course, I don't, anyway, because of their backhanded slaps and ignoring of Clark, but they don't know that.

P.S. We HAD to leave before the end (of F 9/11)...Killed me!!!!!Can anybody e-mail or pm me and tell me what happened after the segment where the mom was reading the last letter from her son? I'd be FOREVER GRATEFUL : )

We're sick and fucking tired of it. Of course, your boy doesn't have this problem. Heck, they'd pop a coronary before they'd take out a segment on the son of a mill worker. This is blantant and tiring and old and trite. And, you don't have to care, but we do. Besides, MSNBC is heads and shoulders above CNN now that a former Clinton Administration staffer is running the joint. If that guy, who's name escapes me, hadn't been there when Ken Olberman tossed out the fact that he had been e-mailed "talking points" by the White House staff, Olberman probably would be pounding the pavement for work right now.

How many are we killing there, anyway? He said about a month ago we needed to do it quickly, take charge. To take charge of Fallujah, we will have to kill them and level their city to "free them."
We are already doing it.

45. I think you misunderstood his point. |
|
He did not advocate leveling the city. Had we gone in with enough troops a month ago, a lot of the casualties could have been AVOIDED.
He believes in the Powell doctrine. If you have to use force you have to use overwhelming force. We just bombed the "insurgents" almost indiscriminately because we didn't have enough troops to go in and take control. Marines were shooting at everything that moved. Look at all the civilian casualties. The situation is just getting worse. Most of that could have been avoided. Yes, going in would have cost lives on both sides but the whole point is that it would have cost LESS LIVES in the long run.
He was not for going in to Fallujah originally but then the administration vowed to go in after the mercenary thing. He thinks it was a major mistake to say we would go in. But he also thinks it was a major mistake NOT to go in AFTER they said they would - which makes a lot of sense: it projects weakness and just escalates the situation.
After hundreds of lives lost (Iraqis and Americans as well) the situation still hasn't been resolved. We are still losing lives every single day.
Wes was against this war from the beginning. But we have to face reality. We won't just pull out of Iraq. That's NOT going to happen. Not even if Kerry is elected. They might end up going in to Fallujah. And if they don't use enough troops - overwhelming force - then it will result in MUCH MORE casualties on BOTH sides.
Wes deeply cares about civilian casualties. He knew the Fallujah solution wouldn't work in the long run. He was right.
P.S. Sorry for my grammar - I speak English as a second language.

Bias runs deep, and they are forgetting that General Clark was there to represent John Kerry, so Clark being cutoff and edited out was just fine to them. If only 'thinking' were going on here, the world would be good.

The "info" address gets SO many e-mails, I have no confidence it would get to the right people. But those who schedule Clark's appearances would know about who pays for what, what the agreements are, and so forth. Would you send them a note, letting them know what happened and ask if they would look into it?

As a single mother, the 8 p.m. hour is a busy time for me - getting my son ready for bed - but, knowing that this show repeats itself at 11 p.m. EST, I wasn't sweating the fact that I would miss Gen. Wes Clark's comments on the Iraqi war. I read some of his comments posted by bloggers on his website, so I knew that he had appeared opposite Ken Adelman. I was looking forward to the replay. Imagine my surprise when I watched your show only to discover that you had cut out this segment. Why? From the comments I've read, it seems Clark got the better of Adelman - that is before Clark's microphone got cut. It should have been worthy for the replay in its confrontational value alone. Clark's comments on the Iraqi War are very precious to those of us who have family members in the Middle East. Clark has been consistantly correct about this whole fiasco, coming off as some what of a sage in his predictions. Since your network seems to provide less and less investigative reporting into all the issues surrounding the Iraqi War, the least you could do for clarity is to replay Clark's comments as many times as needed until the American people learn that the war is no "cakewalk."
(On edit: I sent this via "CNN Present" 's feedback website, so they know to which show I'm referring.)

Adelman brushes aside the need for an exit strategy when asked about it. Maybe they didn't want that repeated. After all when you are building the latest version of the Imperial City to control your 14 new permanent bases, spreading the news to the taxpayers might not be the message you want sent.
There is a very weird portion of that segment. As soon as Adelman begins his attack, as if on cue, the camera closes in on Clark. Waiting. But Clark does play; he remains pleasant and still while listening.
So why did the camera move?
I noticed it before knowing what Adelman's big fat lie was going to be. Anyway, I taped the program and will watch it again to make sure. If so, I think this was a hit job.
