Revenge is ours, ABC!!!
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/04/22/abcs-ratings-drop-after-much-criticized-debate/

Last week, after ABC News’s much-criticized Democratic debate, Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales declared that “the clear loser is ABC.” The ratings for last week’s evening newscasts are now in, and it appears that Shales was correct: “NBC beat ABC by over 600,000 viewers last week — an unusually wide margin for the dueling newscasts.” Huffington Post’s Rachel Sklar notes that “one reason for that wider-than-usual gap” is that “on Friday, NBC beat ABC by 1.1 million viewers — a practically unheard of margin for an otherwise random Friday night."

Payback's a bitch, you corporatist fucks!

21. No they won't with all due respects.
You are living in the past if you think that because in the past it was necessary for a company to make a profit to stay in business. Now it doesn't matter.
ABC is owned by the Disney company and they could run it as a loss for many years and never suffer.
Besides they know that all they have to do is find a hot blond news reader and the ratings will go back up.

27. I would agree with that
But some times achieving a political goal is worth it.
Imagine if you could get a 5% reduction in taxes in a multi billion dollar corporation. Would it not be worth a few million loss of revenue?

Of course, I haven't watched any prime time news in over 20 years. But now, I'm not watching with a purpose!

22. The invisible puppetmasters who ultimately control ABC's programmming
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 12:02 PM by valerief
got what they wanted. Less talk about issues and more talk about nonsense on the debate. They make more money from a stupid non-voting/war-enlisting public than they do from selling Fords (or whatever) during the news hours. Besides, those ratings will change when ABC has an exclusive on some dead blonde who died in a gruesome murder (or some other unsavory diversionary story).

23. Ultimately perhaps America will mostly tune in to Democracy Now...

... Each time another MSM entity like ABC plays the ultimate idiot card, perhaps we can see that goal happening! I can dream!... Then the advertisers will be either stuck with no place to advertise "on the news", or be forced to ask the MSM to become real journalists again so that they can actually have a market for ads again.

26. I just showed Democracy Now to my best friend.
Up until recently, he's been a moderate Republican, but now he's a Democrat and an enthusiastic Obama supporter, who pleasantly surprised me by showing me The Revolution Will Not Be Televised ( http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5832390545689805144 )

So after we got steamed watching FAUX and CNN trying to blow smoke up our asses, I showed him Democracy Now.

Yes, we can bring them to the light side of the Force! B-)

Looks good on you ABC. Here's hoping this will intesify and continue. I still want the AP press dinner group (who gave McCain his favorite donuts and a standing ovation last week)to get a taste of our wrath. :argh::kick:
