CLEVELAND -- Former Cleveland Congresswoman Mary Rose Oakar has a key National Democratic Party job which could give her a role refereeing a superdelegate fight between Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Oakar is one of three chairpersons of the Democratic Convention Rules Committee.

She will help make decisions about seating delegates, the fate of the Florida and Michican primaries and the "hows" and "whats" of a possible deciding superdelegate vote.

She hopes the candidates can come to a solution on thier own before the August convention...

2. Once again a party committee member to decide?

Everyone should have a delegte vote at the convention not BEFORE. The two candidates decide on their own...no way. Then all elections won't be elections but run by the party leaders and leading candidates to end when they want.

The Democratic Convention leaders don't want the process to be ended where it belongs at the convention.

I am sick of our party manipulating every election to chose who they want to vote and when the primaries are ended. They stop the vote counting declaring their winner.

The primary candidates get to pick the VP and our party platform before the convention. No way.

3. Maybe I am wrong and I hope
I am but what bothers me is that whatever outcome is arrived at could possibly be challenged in court. That is all we need. Maybe that was what the FL Republicans were striving for. The Floridians and those from MI should have their votes counted. I don't want out president elected by committee. That happened in 2000--on a 5/4 basis.

5. Right. Give Florida and Michigan the delegate vote.

They don't want the people/represented by delegates to talk at the convention about a platform to remove our troops from Iraq, talk about our joblessness since NAFTA, open borders, our debt because of bad govenment, bad trade policy(and unconstitutional), and war.

They have silenced the people and their vote. The conventions today are only a pep rally to make people think we support everything our candidates believe when it not.

I "smell fear" from the party leaders that we might demand our democracy and border back. They don't fear McCain would beat us because we had a contencious candidate fight. What Bush and Congress are doing to us is not what we want and they know that.

4. Yeah, rules schmools
Unfettered chaotic rioting is what we need -- and not until August.

That'll show 'em.

6. Democracy is a messy process.
Without it we wouldn't have a democracy or say.

10. No I'm not.
Varying discussion and political fights are not anarchy.

12. Saying "free for all" no rules should apply
is anarchy.

The process is democratic -- and it needs guidelines.
