You know what would be funny in a nightmarish kind of way? |
|
And it's not impossible, I suppose. What if Obama is put over the top by SDs in June and is acclaimed by the DNC and party big wigs such as Pelosi and Reid as the presumptive nominee, and names his VP choice? And then what if Hillary refuses to concede and also names a running mate? Can you imagine how hysterical that would be? The two of them campaigning with running mates. Yikes.
And one more thing: WWSD if Obama is the presumptive nominee due to party acclamation and SDs and Hillary refuses to drop out? Will we go from primary mode here on DU into GE mode? Or will we still be in primary mode?
The possibilities for bizarro world are many.

5. Well, JK announced that his running mate would be JE on July 6 |
|
2004, so it's possible that if Obama is the presumptive nominee he'd announce his pick before the convention. hard to keep something like that a secret all the way to the convention anyway. And hill's supporters always say she'll never drop out before the convention, so I suppose she could do something like that- not saying she would, but I don't see why it's not possible.

2. Your scenario = president McGrampa |

Not that I would put that past the clintoons.
It also means no consequences for the criminals in the bush administration.
Not that the clintoons would mind.

I expect this to happen (except for the naming VPs thing).
Even after Obama has secured 2025 delegates, I do not expect Hillary to drop out.
There will be talk of a third party run, which may actually gain traction.
There is a real possibility that Hillary might be named VP to McCain, but if not, expect Lieberman.
The corporate masters will do EVERYTHING possible to prevent an Obama presidency.

14. The official nominee is determined at the convention by roll call |
|
Neither Pelosi nor anyone else has the right to name an official presumptive nominee.
Now, the real possible problem which has happened in the past is if some state Democratic panels of electoral college members would choose to remain unpledged rather than support the official nominee named at the convention.
