Former President Bill Clinton vists NC and speaks to massive crowd of 200 (two-hundred).
Bill visited Orange County, NC, spoke at a campaign stop at a ball field, and left. No doubt he probably secured a good 75-90 votes in that one stop alone. Expect the poll numbers in NC to really move if he makes between 5,000-10,000 more such campaign stops.

Then there's the guy I'm going to see tonight with twenty thousand of my friends.

1. Great post=LOL! Are you going to see Obama tonight, for real?
Where is he speaking? Bring your camera! Take notes! Say :hi: to all your friends, and tell them to vote! :D

I hope you have a great time! I saw Obama speak here in Madison, WI back in February (along with about 20,000 of my closest friends too). It was very inspiring.

20. But most were cheering for Hillary Clinton.
The crowd also included some Obama supporters, undecided voters and Republicans. But most were cheering for Hillary Clinton.

"I like her because you can knock her down, and she comes right back up," said 63-year-old Jo Ann Snead of Hillsborough.

"But she comes up spitting, and comes up smiling," said her friend, Rollin Russell, 71, also of Hillsborough.

Kate Jackson, a registered Republican, said she plans to vote for Clinton because she thinks the New York senator is best-prepared to fix problems in the economy and foreign policy. She said she appreciated comments by Mike Trujillo, Clinton's state field director, that "boys" in both parties have been telling Clinton to "sit down, shut up and be quiet."

Jackson said, "I think that people are intimidated by her because she's a woman."

51. Looks like Bill is going to get pissy again. He has a bad case of jealousy....
...going on here. Obama is younger, healthier, more vital, more charistmatic, draws much larger crowds, would the the REAL "first black president," and is a generally nice guy.

Obama has decades in front of him to accomplish so much; Bill doesn't.

So I predict Bill is going to be extra pissy in the next few days. His jealousy has made him seem like a petulent child who wants to be the center of attention. It ain't going to be pretty.

6. You're comparing apples to oranges here.
A ball field does not equal a rally. He did a lot of that kind of stumping in Pennsylvania. Ya'll remember Pennsylvania, doncha?

11. so Michelle Obama=Bill Clinton in stature now?
She actually draws more than a former president, so that's not really fair to her.

21. The rally in question was near Chapel Hill and Durham.
Much more urban than rural there, I know the area well.

That's a pathetic turnout for a former President.

27. Sounds like.......
A good rally to me. Not massive compared to what Obama normally gathers but is it really necessary for most Obama supporters to marginalize Bill so they can feel good about themselves and their candidate? DU is getting too pitiful for me these days.

16. good for Bill, He told the crowd that Eliz Edwards favors Hillary's health plan:

.......Speaking in the home county of John and Elizabeth Edwards, Clinton noted that Mrs. Edwards has said she favored Hillary Clinton's health care plan over Obama's.

"She said Hillary's health care plan was better, and as you all know, she knows something about that issue," he said.

He also talked about his wife's proposals to reach energy independence and promote development of affordable hybrid cars.

"If our country can beat the world to the moon," he said, "we ought to be able to beat the world to clean coal and a car battery."

The crowd began chanting "We want Bill" long before he made his appearance. They waited through T-shirt giveaways and a raffle to meet the former president. He is making his fifth swing through the state today on behalf of his wife's campaign.

18. Amazing isn't it..
At some stop he did the other day, they had to let class out so the students could fill up the gym. During the Texas race, he was near me when he came to Amarillo. I didn't bother going. As little as a year ago, I probably would've paid to go and hear him speak. Ah, disappointing.

50. I heard 500 - and we all laughed derisively.
Orange County, NC is home to Chapel Hill, site of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Just down the road a few miles is Duke University. Go a little further and you're in Raleigh - NC State. Lots of smaller colleges and universities here, too. This is one of the bluest sections of North Carolina. And Bill Clinton - former president of the United States of America Bill Clinton - drew a crowd in the hundreds?

I'm sorry, there is no way to spin this to make it go away. The Clintons have lost it.

A rally in support of Obama on Thursday night in Hillsborough (county seat of Orange County, NC) drew more people than that - and Obama wasn't even there!

Obama's speaking tonight in Chapel Hill and the venue is sold out.
