Poll: Clinton leads McCain

By LIZ SIDOTI

Associated Press Writer

Hillary Rodham Clinton has a better chance than Barack Obama of beating Republican John McCain, according to a new Associated Press-Ipsos poll that bolsters her argument that she is more electable in the fall than her rival for the Democratic nomination.

The survey released Monday gives Clinton a fresh talking point as she works to convince pivotal undecided superdelegates to side with her in the drawn-out Democratic primary fight.

Clinton, who won the Pennsylvania primary last week, has gained ground this month in a hypothetical head-to-head match up with the GOP nominee-in-waiting; she now leads McCain, 50 percent to 41 percent, while Obama remains virtually tied with McCain, 46 percent to 44 percent.

I can't imagine a they would publish those numbers with a 4.5 or higher margin of error.

But he really is far to the right and not a maverick... He's no Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins... And the fact he called his wife the C-word made me really disappointed in him because I respected him as a man even though I didn't like his politics at all...

Why would you call a woman the c-word? It's the little things that define a person...

My business partner called a woman the C-word (not to her face) after she cheated us out of $1,200.00 but even then I thought it was a horrible thing to call somebody...

33. I don't know if I even believe that poll..
or at least that the results of it would actually turn into reality. They can say whatever they want, but the truth is that Hillary still has more negatives than Obama..she not only has like half the base mad at her, but has a deep rooted reputation (however fair or unfair). If people think the RW smear machine wouldn't target her too, they're dead wrong. They'd still probably turn out, if only just to vote against her. There's no way she'd attract the amount of independents or cross over republicans that Barack would..

Certain people would just rather McCain face her than Barack..and it shows..

A new AP/Ipsos poll shows Hillary Clinton performing better than Barack Obama in a national match-up against John McCain:

Clinton (D) 50%, McCain (R) 41%
Obama (D) 46%, McCain (R) 44%

For comparison, here's the previous AP/Ipsos poll from April 10:

Clinton (D) 48%, McCain (R) 45%
Obama (D) 45%, McCain (R) 45%

That's the finding of a new Rasmussen poll released today: It says that 34% of Dems nationwide think she should bail.

That's only up two points since earlier in April, but it's up 12 from March, so the number is clearly growing. Meanwhile, twenty-two percent of Dems think Obama should drop out.

19.  S-USA Indiana Poll: Clinton By 9

SUSA IN Poll: Clinton By 9

The latest SUSA Indiana poll:

8 days until votes are counted, Hillary Clinton finishes ahead of Barack Obama, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WHAS-TV in Louisville and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.

Clinton leads among whites 56-39 (87% of the vote), Obama among African Americans 78-16 (10% of the vote). On election day, Obama will win A-As by 90-10. The issue is, as it has been for a while, will Obama lose whites by 20 points or more.

25. Reality
Obama has been the one consently hit.He has Mccain and The Republicans,The CLinton Machine, and the
MSM running all stop against him.Of course this can help Hillary In some polls. But conisder
who Republicans are bad mouthing. It Is not Hillary but Obama.Obama's favorable numbers mirror
Mccain.More people dislike Hillary than like her.

Now If SurveyUSA Is right and the other polls are wrong It should be pointed out Obama hs picket up
some. This would mean she will likely win Indiana by a somewhat smaller margain In Indiana but considering Obam will likely take North Carolina by Double digets a smaller take of delgate from
Indiana than In PA will not help her very much.

**Obama lead cut in HALF---

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 28, 2008

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POLL: TOM JENSEN 919-744-6312

Presidential race narrows in NC

Raleigh, N.C. – Hillary Clinton has cut Barack Obama’s North Carolina lead in half, according to the newest survey from Public Policy Polling.
Obama still has a solid 51-39 advantage over Clinton in the state, but his lead had ranged from 18-25 points in PPP’s previous five North Carolina polls.

The bulk of the movement in the race over the last week has come from white voters.

The survey last week showed Obama pulling to within five points of Clinton with that
group, but her lead now is back up at 56-35.
“Barack Obama is certainly still the run away favorite in North Carolina,” said Dean
Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But she’s made some inroads since
Pennsylvania and the race could end up being closer than might have been expected.”

She has opened up a 9 point lead against McCain; Obama's 2 point lead is within the margin of error.

Two weeks ago, HRC led McCain by 3 points, and Obama and McCain were tied.

41. She is not "surging" relative to Obama, considering all the polls.
Hillary is up 2.2 points vs. McCain:

http://www.pollster.com/08-US-Pres-GE-MvC.php

Obama is up 1.3 points vs. McCain:

http://www.pollster.com/08-US-Pres-GE-MvO.php

McCain is sinking vs. both Hillary and Obama. Hillary's .9 point advantage over Obama in this respect is negligible. Hillary is not "surging".

51. The title was very clear. It said surge in "new national poll" not in "all polls" it as poll
specific. It THEN, in the headline, went on to state the numbers it was talking about as being verses McCain and not each other. The headline was very blatantly discussing a particular poll. It made no bones about it.
