Edwards is the right wing's WORST nightmare
At first, I thought our Presidential candidate should nominate a VP candidate that helped him electorally. I figured Gephardt would help carry Missouri, or even Ohio. Either of those states would just about lock up the election for us. I also thought our Presidential candidate should nominate someone who would help shore up our candidate's weaknesses. i.e. If he's a young northerner, then nominate an older southerner for 'balance'.
Because Kerry nominated Edwards, the less aware right wingers are thinking that they can parlay their hate for lawyers into an effective smear campaign. The less ignorant right wingers know the truth: They are in BIG trouble.
Edwards hits the right wingers right in the solar plexus.
He completely takes the wind out of them.
For years, I've heard Republicans cry "class warfare", whenever a Democrat points out that the Republicans' friends are getting rich at the expense of ours.
For all of those years, I've watched Democratic candidates "wimp out" when it comes to fighting for the populist issues that are so important for working families.
John Edwards can't possibly wimp out on those issues, because they are the very issues that he has always fought for.
We've all heard Edwards speak of "Two Americas", when he talks about the struggles of poor and working families. No other Democrat on the national scene has spoken in such a manner in the last several election cycles.
It's about damn time somebody took on the "haves" that spend their entire lives working to ensure that the "have-nots" remain just that.
The beauty of Edwards' ideas is that they aren't only important in a few states, or regions. Edwards' ideas will play well all across America. The farmers, the hunters, the construction workers, the laborers, the factory workers, and every member of America's working class will perk their ears up when they hear Edwards speak. They'll perk up their ears, because they'll hear somebody actually talking to them. And that's the Republican's worst nightmare.
Go get em John! You may be the best national candidate since William Jennings Bryan.

1. I agree and...
I think Edwards experience at being a trial lawyer will give him the ability to school Cheney in the debates.

2. his greatest strength IMHO is the ability to take complex issues
and boil them down to a nutshell (ie "soundbite") from years of working in front of juries

Watch and see, he'll have some great one liners that will speak directly to the voters :bounce:

4. The beauty of this choice is that it will energize all of us to get
out there and register and mobilize the vote. I am expecting Edwards to bring in a lot of young voters just like Jack Kennedy did.

5. Anything they say to attack him will bounce back in their faces
like the experience thing: he's way more experienced than Bush was

Making money from the trials: Bush/Cheney just steal it with sweetheart deals and no-bid contracts

Tucker Carlson actually criticised Kerry for picking a rich white man! ahahahahah!

The left-wing extremist thing: Kerry/Edwards ARE THE MAINSTREAM Bush/Cheney are neo-con extremists!

You can't beat the Jesse Helms political machine in North Carolina by being a left-winger.

They say Edwards raised the cost of Health Insurance! Bush raised it more than anyone! Kerry/Edwards are going to lower the costs dramatically and expand coverage to millions of Americans!

on a side note: When you guys complain that Kerry/Edwards aren't liberal enough, try to do it on TV if you can. :P
