Heard on Air America that John McCain will NOT join in with *'s attacks on Kerry/Edwards. He also went on to say that Edwards was a great pick for VP and admires him.
Ha HA!!! Sucks being you, Bushie boy.

He keeps givin' Bushie a little bait and turns around and slaps him.
I don't think you'll see more ads with him in them.

20. Because he can do more where he is THINK ABOUT IT ! |
|
If he bolts the party he's persona non grata. If he stays ... he remains the MOST POPULAR republican with a HUGE following in BOTH parties and can lead Bush around by the nose. He's right where he needs to be. Kerry needs a friend there to keep Bush/Rove from pulling their typical nasty shit. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't secretly pulling for Kerry. I LOVE it !

He should hate Bush. Even more than I hate Bush. More than we all hate Bush. What Bushco did to McCain goes to the very core of how stinkin' dirty that whole bunch can be. I wanted to say "evil", but that's a Bush word.

I do believe the two had a conversation but I don't believe it was about the VP. My gut tells me the two were talking about how to heal the rift between the parties.
They were talking about Unity, but not a Unity ticket.

A few days ago, I heard McCain was supposed to stump for Bush, which really threw me for a loop. What gives? Is this a party loyalty thing, or was he starting to buddy-up with the Bushies?

an ad for Bush that is supposed to run in Battleground States???
You don't have to say "Go F*ck yourself, John Kerry" to do damage.
McCain's loyalties are with Bush and he is campaigning for him. Just because he's not being vicious he is certainly guilty by association.

11. No, An Ad Was Made Of a Mea Culpa Speech He Gave |
|
McCain had to get on the stump to make up for refusing to immediately squash speculation about a Kerry-McCain ticket.
He did not - repeat DID NOT - make the Bush ad, anymore than Kerry makes one when they use his speeches in ads.

there is another thread here at DU concerning this issue...I will look for it.
It is in General Discussion...was discussed on CNN Inside Politics by Judy Woodruff.

|
I wonder why? Did McCain object or did the ad backfire by reminding people how much more intelligent McCain is than Bush.

22. For the life of me, I can't understand why McCain... |
|
ever supported Bush in the first place. Granted, I know he is a Republican and yada, yada, yada, but Bush absolutely treated McCain like crap in South Carolina back in 2000. I lived in the state, was a student at Clemson, and saw it firsthand.
McCain had come off of that New Hampshire victory, was leading the polls in South Carolina, and then Rove and Bush went to work on McCain's honorable image. Bush won South Carolina, McCain was mortally wounded, and never recovered. What a jackass!

23. Must suck to be McCain too ... |
|
It seems like he tries really, really hard to be a 'good Republican' (per the original definition) but the party loyalty thing has to be a damn bitter pill to swallow when he looks in the mirror every morning and realizes that his 'party' has been pimped by the BFEE to the military industrial/fundie wings of the country.
