How many DUers at St. Pete Collisuem last night?

If you came in the VIP/Volunteer door, I was the guy who let you in or told you to wait in the sweltering heat for just a little bit longer.:shrug: Not a fun job, but someone has to do it.

It's too bad that everyone who was there couldn't get in, but otherwise it was awesome. Kerry and Edwards were great. Mrs. Edwards connected well, as she told of her Florida roots and family conections. It was great that they got out of the limos after the rally and greeted as many people as possible. I have a feeling they're gonna be keeping the Secret Service on their toes!

If last night was any indication, the "Sunshine Boys" are gonna kick ass in the "Sunshine State".

Congratulations to all Gulf Coast Kerry supporters on a great event!

1. I was there!

Not a volunteer or VIP and I went in the other door.

I had a GREAT time, as did my friend. We connected with several other folks in the crowd and really enjoyed ourselves.

2. Hell the party out side was great, Most people did not seem to

care that they could not get in. We were having a great time outside. To bad you could not have been out there with us. Yes, both Edwards and Kerry saw my Veterans for Kerry/Edwards sign and saw my uniform hat and they reached through the crowd to shake my hand. Man those guys are doing it right. I do not think anyone expected them to stop, let alone get out. What balls, my wife said thats scary in a mass of uncontrolled people to do that! She keeps worrying about there safety. If you want the skinny on the outside fun, check this thread out.....

4. I had a front row seat!

I was watching the door from about 6P to around 10:30, so I got to see, but not hear, a lot of the action. I liked the truck that said "Conservatism enslaves".

I traded one of my Kerry buttons to a guy who really wanted it for his Veteran for Kerry button. My nephew just got back from Iraq and he will wear it proudly.

3. I had to choose which FL event to attend.

I'm a little closer to Fort Lauderdale than St. Pete and didn't want to drive home late at night so I got up early and drove across the Alley. Sorry I missed the rally, it sounds great and definitely cooler than standing in the sun for 2 hours waiting to get into a packed airplane hangar. Glad to see there are so many S FL DUers.

5. I was there

I was the next to last to get in through the VIP door. I actually helped move the barricade to close off the VIP line for good. The rally was awesome. A complete success. Great job to all the volunteers that worked very hard on such a great event!
