Senate Confirms Anti-Choice Nominee J. Leon Holmes to Federal District Court

"On July 6, the Senate narrowly confirmed President Bush's nomination of J. Leon Holmes to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Holmes' record of anti-choice activism and his inflammatory, often misinformed comments about reproductive rights, pro-choice advocates and women's roles in society make him another example of President Bush's efforts to nominate extremists who will push our federal courts to the right."

4. Here's a list of Dems who voted Yea
Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)
Mark Pryor (D-AR)
Zell Miller (D-GA)
John Breaux (D-LA)
Mary Landrieu (D-LA)

I heard somewhere that Breaux is going to quit the Senate. Anybody know anything about that?

Zell Miller is quitting, isn't he? Please, please tell me he's quitting. I just need to be reassured because I have nightmares about another Zell Miller term.

5. Yeah, Breaux and Miller are both retiring
However, Miller will be replaced by a republican and Breaux will most likely be replaced by Chris John, a democrat who is at least as conservative as Breaux, if not more.
