Is Wilogren making shit up?
or is there really such a rule in the Kerry campaign...

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/09/politics/campaign/09CND-KERRY.html

Wyclef Jean, the Haitian hip-hop star, broke the Kerry campaigns unwritten rule against uttering French, to ward off Republican caricatures, with a multilingual rap, one of several songs whose lyrics were rewritten for the occasion.

"Instead of spending billions on the war, I can use that money so I can feed the poor," sang Mr. Jean, whose tie bore a donkey in an Uncle Sam hat . "I know some soldiers that sleep but they can't dream, wake up with dreams, sounds of M-16s."

1. Sounds reasonable
Over at the Bush campaign they have an unwritten rule against speaking the truth.

2. I Bet Those Entertainers All Feel
Much Better for saying what they each said.

just a little unvarnished opinion - nothing wrong with that.

3. "unwritten rule"
"unwritten rule"

In other words, no there's no such rule, but nobody is speaking French.

Whether that's calculated or just normal for english-speaking people in an English-speaking campaign in and English-speaking country, well, you'd have to ask the reporter.

And ask the reporter if he figured adding this sort of unsubstantiated crap would "spice up" his article.

4. By that logic we have to hate Louisiannans too, especially Creole speakers
Haiti is not France. I doubt they tried to get in the way of the US's war plans. Howver, Wilogren apprently thinks we have to hate France and all their former colonies because Republicans said so. Good to know. Lousianna should vote Democrat.

5. Is that an alternate spelling of
Louisiana, or something locals prefer?

6. Since I'm not local to Louisiana, I don't know.

I rarely spell check, and I usually type faster than I can think.

I also spelled Wilgoren's name wrong. And "apparently" and "however."
